“Disabled Guests at Pentillie Castle”
Reviewed 30 April 2014

Looking for somewhere to stay with a Disabled guest and wheelchair user? Pentillie Castle went out of their way to make our stay most enjoyable. Room adaptions were perfect, and the food was excellent. The house and grounds were easily accessible without too much bother, and the grounds can also be explored by car too. The staff are so friendly, and nothing is any trouble for them. Best of all was the magnificent surroundings, peace and quiet, and comfort of home. I recommend a stay at Pentillie Castle for anyone, if only as a B&B like we did! Thank you to all the team.

Great house and facillities which we enjoyed very much. The owners are very good hosts and made us feel `at home´ from the very beginning of our stay. In our home country - Germany - it´s hard to find such an impressive castle offering such valuable, warm and well designed Guest Room including the exceptionell dining and living room.
We will definitely try to enjoy another stay in Pentillie Castle.

Amazing location and great hosts!

We stayed at Pentillie Castle in April 2014 during Easter break. We loved everything about the Castle! Great introduction by host and explanation where everything is and what are the rules when walking/exploring around the area.

Rooms:
We stayed in a relative small but very clean and cozy room on the first floor next to the tower. Very clean, with nice shower room. We couldn't find anything that we didn't like about this room.

Breakfast:
I would recommended anyone staying in the Castle to wake up as early as possible and enjoy the most amazing breakfast. Really liked service and quality of the food. Pentillie breakfast is the must! with organic local apple juices.

Walks:
Great walks around the area, our only suggestion would be to include numbers on the map when you;re walking around the area. Otherwise we would recommend everyone to explore beautiful Pentillie gardens. We had companion walking next to very smart dog called "Hershey"

We would recommended castle to anyone looking to escape London or spend romantic week end in the Country. We will definitely coming back to this place this year!

As a resident in the nearby village of St Mellion during my childhood in the 1950s, I had always been intrigued to discover what the then mysterious and secluded Pentillie Castle and its grounds were really like. So the chance to find out by staying there over a weekend in March 2014 was too good to miss. We were not disappointed. We stayed in the Dewhurst Room which was immaculate, luxurious and stylish. The entire property is very special, reflecting its unique history, and was beautifully appointed with every imaginable comfort. All the Coryton family members we met were incredibly welcoming - so helpful and informative - as were the staff. We loved the breakfasts. Our tour of the estate was truly memorable with views of scenes towards the Tamar Valley being very special. Highly recommended. We shall be back - hopefully before too long!

A really excellent stay. Very well maintained hotel, superb location. Great rooms, very personal service. Dinners are pre ordered in the hotel and cooked and you pop them in the aga oven - very tasty. in the evening the guests are basically left alone - trust bar too. we would go back definitely.

We stayed in the Corydon room with a lovely view out the back toward the river. The room was grand: lovely draperies and bed linens, a huge bed, an enormous bath with deep tub and large enclosed shower; the superlatives just won't stop. The hosts were very accommodating to our requests and made us very welcome. We explored the grounds from the rhodos and camellias to the quay to the mausoleum; all very interesting. Nice breakfast with home made fruit compote, jams, honey from the estate, etc. Tremendous attention to detail. The whole house is available to guests, including two large sitting rooms, the kitchen, the boot room, etc. Delightful stay and highly recommended.

Room Tip: Select a room on the river side for a great view.

We stayed at Pentillie Castle in Oktober 2013 for a long weekend and it was just great.
The castle is authentic. The staff more than friendly. As they also live at Pentillie it creates a nice homely atmosphere.
The breakfast is very good with homemade jams and honey. One evening we had dinner at the castle. This was very good with a choice of meet, fish or vegetarian. The wine was excellent. The other night they recommended us a pub nearby with great food. The travel to the pub by car on small pathways with high hedges on both sides was lovely.
The room was perfekt. Stunning bathroom and a very comfortable bed. The whole interior made you feel at home (or even better).
Especially nice is the site of the castle with grey partridges in the gardens and multiple small walks.
We recommend this place to everyone who wants a short break at the british countryside.
We just loved it.
