My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights this week and loved every minute, the B&B is lovely and quiet in a perfect spot for walking and the peace of the countryside. We used the hot tub on both nights, the 1st night we watched the rain roll over the surrounding hills whilst on the 2nd we enjoyed a bottle of wine under the stars!! Mary and her family (& friendly dog Twiglet) made us feel truly welcome it felt like staying with family, so much so we missed our arranged breakfast time by over an hour due to over sleeping (possibly contributed to by the comfy Bed and dark & silent room), Mary was kind enough to accommodate our late breakfast without question. We will definitely recommend and return.

Thank you for a lovely stay!

Mary, family, twiglet and Sarah were so friendly and helpful. We had the most lovely , relaxing stay. Wyndemeet is in the middle of no where so perfect for walkers (especially as you can take the friendly twiglet along for a walk too) and the hot tub is just what you need after a long days walk!

Mary and her family are perfect hosts. Wydemeet is the most lovely house, we stayed in Hexworthy and enjoyed fabulous views and lots of little extras. Nothing was too much trouble, from tasty breakfasts to fluffy towels and fishing tips. Our four day break was the best medicine, if only it could have been longer.

I most enthusiastically recommend Wydemeet. Mary is a fantastic host, and our stay was as pleasant as it gets. Our guest room was light and spacious, the bed perfectly comfortable and the oversized bath tub ended up being fought for. The quality of sleep was second to none, despite the nasty jet lag. Mary cooks lovely a la carte breakfasts featuring handpicked local ingredients. She is also very knowledgeable of the surroundings and happy to recommend off the beaten track (quite literally) attractions and activities.

Well, we of course did it all wrong. We managed to stay right in the heart of Dartmoor and remain completely oblivious to it. Instead of slowing down, soaking up the tranquility or the moors surrounding Wydemeet, taking Twiglet the hound for long walks along thousand year old paths we kept hopping into the car to explore places far, far away (St. Michael's Mount? Of course. St. Ives? Sure. Tintagel? Why not?..)

We'll have to do it again, and we'll certainly hope to be able stay at Wydemeet once more.

All of your reviews are absolutely gulp-worthy - my very dear new friends. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I am absolutely touched to the core by your words, Sometimes I feel like cryimg when I read these reviews. And I very much hope to see you back again in the not too distant future, to catch up where we left off. I've put Nespresso machines in each room now, so we're getting really grand! But still no wardrobes! It's just sad that there's no one here with me, apart from Freya and Twiglet, to share in all the fun! I'm having no luck at all with the internet dating sites - so I thought I might just mention it here! Is that going a step too far?!

Wydemeet is a beautiful home tucked away in the heart of Dartmoor, peaceful and quiet with stunning scenery surrounding it! Tastefully furnished but homely and welcoming. Our room at the front of the house was large and airy with a superb en suite. The bed was huge and very comfortable! Mary made us feel at home right from the start, with a welcome cup of tea and a large slice of scrumptious home made chocolate cake! Nothing was too much trouble for her to make her guests feel at home. We came as strangers but left as friends! A lovely lady! Mary cooks a wonderful breakfast and her porridge was just right!! ... We also loved taking Twiglet for a walk but one day he deserted us to join a group of children who we're having a fantastic time with him in the river! However, he eventually left the children to their play and came bounding back to us, a great little dog! A special place in a beautiful location. A little bit of heaven! Now we have found it we will return. Thank you Mary for a wonderful place to be able to stay.
