Two lovely nights spent here, food excellent, well presented and very tasty. The staff were very professional, smart and extremely helpful , a special mention for Katy . We had a best room which was very roomy, a great big comfy bed ,clean and attractively decorated, loved the roll top slipper bath and huge bathroom. Tea making facilities with homemade biscuits especially welcome. Our dog Henry was made welcome with biscuits and bed for him to! We will definitely be returning soon

Lovely inn with bags of character and warm welcoming staff. Our room was a bit spartan but had everything you would need including a separate shower and slipper bath. Good beer and a very good menu with many delicious options. Not cheap - large glass of wine over £9 but draws a local crowd so has loads of atmosphere. Staff friendly and efficient. A minor whinge is that this is yet another pub that does the quaint 'tourist' local cheeseboard. Interesting if you don't live in Norfolk or Suffolk as a bit of a novelty but really tedious if you do! There is a very good reason why the local cheese isn't that well-known compared to most of England's great cheese - a bit like Norfolk's wine and whisky!

My partner and I have just had a great night at the Westleton Crown. We took advantage of their January special offer and were not disappointed. All the individual rooms are named after birds, ours was the Black tailed godwit a bit of a mouthful when giving our room name at dinner! The room was lovely, spacious with a big comfortable bed, the en suite bathroom had a pretty stand alone bath, luxury toiletries and big white towels. It was warm and cosy, tea coffee etc provided with home made biscuits. The staff were friendly and very efficient. We had afternoon tea and later dinner in the main restaurant was delicious. Great steak and the best home made ice cream.
We will definitely be going back for another break, hopefully for longer next time!

We had a party of nine staying and eating in the bar for Saturday night supper. The service was excellent and the food very good. We stayed in a really nice room in the grounds and it was like having a chalet all to ourselves.

Along with another couple my wife and I spent a lovely weekend at this hotel. We had a special deal which made it particularly great value for money. Rooms are clean and airy, beds warm and comfortable. There is a cosy and informal lounge area, a traditional style bar and 2 restaurant areas, one in a typical pub style and another in a very light conservatory style. Furnishings are a range of different distressed tables and chairs - lots of character overall. We ate there both evenings, once from the game specials menu and once from the regular a la carte. Portions are pub size rather than Master Chef so we only managed 2 courses each time. Food quality and service was, on the whole, very good. The ample breakfast can be taken in either eating area or even in the bar. A couple of little issues, which may have been one offs, stop this being a 5 star rating. Food and wine prices are what you would expect from this type of establishment. All 4 of us are happy to recommend this place.
N.B. The local post office is closed on Sunday.

Room Tip: The hotel is deceptive as it has 34 rooms including 3 2 floor suites. There are 2 or 3 levels of qua...

Booked a suite as part of my wife's 'special birthday' treat. Suite was more a 'small cottage' than a suite and was just as special as we could have hoped for. The accommodation was clean, well-kept with a huge comfortable bed and a lovely free-standing roll top bath. Small fridge in room for the champers and the provided tea and coffe making facilities included a cafetiere with 'real' coffee and homemade biscuits! Had a balcony overlooking the lovely terraced garden. The staff were friendly, polite, efficient and couldn't have been more helpful. The breakfast choice was outstanding and despite being presented with a menu, you could mix and match as you pleased. We ate in the restaurant on our first night and had a lovely meal - we were able to choose our table (don't know if this would be possible when the place is very busy) which was much appreciated. Service was speedy and food could not be faulted. Retired to the Sitting Room to read the papers after our meal with a very crisp Sauvignon Blanc in hand. Located in a lovely village close to a host of excellent places (Dunwich Heath, Minsmere, Aldeburgh, Walberswick, Snape and Southwold to name a few). All in all a wonderful experience which we will be keen to repeat in the future.

Room Tip: If you book a suite, the Marsh Harrier has a balcony overlooking the garden.

One night stay in January. Clean, comfortable room as advertised. Shower temperature a little difficult to regulate was the only minor quibble. Good food in the restaurant both for dinner and breakfast. Have stayed before and would do so again.
