Stayed here last week. Looks very much like a youth hostel when you walk in, very down at heel and scruffy, with basic and spartan furnishings. I perked up a lot however when I got into my room to be greeted by a four poster bed, and huge bathroom with jacuzzi bath. Except the bath didn't work. Just the shower. And then the TV reception disappeared. The Wifi followed suit fairly quickly afterwards. Then, to top it all off, the next morning I had absolutely no hot water, despite waiting until near 11 in hope. Really poor value considering the other places you can stay in Brighton for the same money

Agree with recent review, whilst the staff were helpful, the hotel is in need of money to refresh. My room had holes in carpet, the shower cubicle was not clean (although the shower was powerful), none of the windows would open, there was a strong smell of cleaning fluids (to cover other smells....?), to use the kettle you needed to put it on the floor, no hairdryer.....etc, etc!

For one night and for the limited amount of time I was in the room it was fine but I won't be returning.

The whole hotel just needs to have some investment and time to revamp, as the potential is there to be a nice hotel.

Though the staff are excellent and eager to help, the building itself is tired and old. The noise does carry and you need to remind yourself that you are only there for a short time.

just come back from weekend break at the langford,
started bad with the paving slabs missing from front of the hotel and just got worse,
no hot water the first day and when reported to reception we were told we know, cant you use one of your friends room, the water from the basin came out of the back of the tap, the carpets are ripped the curtains hanging off the rails plus loads of mould in the bathroom and all this can be yours for a mere £480 a weekend for four in one double room.
breakfast was nice.

Room Tip: look at another hotel
