We were greeted on arrival by the most helpful receptionist who went out of her way to help us find the correct address for a Jamie Oliver cookery lesson..... we were running late at the time! A taxi was then promptly called and we were on our way. Our room was large with the most breath taking seafront view!!!!!

The hotel is very good, convenient for my purposes, and close to many restaurants.
The staff are excellent! Very friendly.
Breakfast was plentiful, and very tasty.
Rooms were clean, not too small.

Downsides:
The lift didn't work on 2 of the 4 days I was there.
Also, there were no fire alarms or detectors! - They are being replaced, but nothing was connected while I was there.
The wifi; I never could manage an internet connection!

Room Tip: Rooms with a sea view will be facing the main road. Rooms at the rear overlook the car park. There...

Stayed here for two nights, room only, and can only assume the cost (£249) was due pretty much entirely to its location which is opposite the beach in Hove, that said we were at the back facing the ''car park''..... we arrived and drove onto the car park, which is at the rear and accessed by the narrowest of approaches, I really was worried about my car, as there was no more than a couple of inches either side of a fairly long drive between two walls. As it turned out it was full (it only holds 17 cars anyway) and trying to then turn around to get out was almost impossible, so if you don't like reversing and you don't know there are spaces, don't bother! We were told to park 'over the road' in other words on the public car park, which by the way has a maximum stay of 4 hours....not good....there are a few parking spaces on the front, (only about 6)but I never saw one empty all the time we were there, this for me is a real issue, the parking here is woefully inadequate. Like most people on holiday we wanted to park the car up and go out on foot, and not have the angst of trying to find a space or keep running out to top up the parking machines!! the room was ok, large enough, and the bathroom was actually really nice, again large, and immaculately clean. One huge concern though, was that all around the hotel there are (presumably old?) light fittings, that have had there covers removed and the wires just capped off and left hanging, whilst Im not saying its unsafe it is definitely unslightly, and they were in our room, the hotel corridors and even reception. The fire alarm by the lift on our floor was in the same condition. Dined in the hotel restaurant on first night, in fact we were the only diners in an otherwise totally empty restaurant, the food selection was good and the meal itself tasty, although my chefs special pie and vegetables definitely needed gravy!!! The waiter was attentive and informative, so top marks for the restaurant!! There was a private party on the top floor that night, and it was very noisy, trying to sleep listening to every word of the 1960s and 1970s music being played was nigh on impossible!!! After the room was cleaned the following day however, I was disappointed that neither the toiletries had been replaced, nor the tea and coffee, Im sure the hotel will say we could have had some had we asked, but as a guest I shouldn't have to ask, they should have been replaced automatically. So, would I stay here again, well that's a no, its overpriced for what you get, the car parking is a shambolic nightmare, and as for those old electrical fittings.....well........

Room Tip: ask for one with a sea view

Stayed here in April with wife, visiting family. Whilst hotel is not the most modern it is clean, tidy, well staffed and extremely friendly. The staff, from the chef in the kitchen, the young lady in the bar, the lovely ladies on reception and especially the morning breakfast staff were all very efficient, very friendly and ensured our stay was a very happy one. The sea view room we stayed in was very clean, comfortable and with an excellent view out over the sea-excellent as we sat there with our coffee looking out. Also whilst the car park was tight at least the hotel offered parking at no cost unlike most hotels in the Brighton and Hove area. The breakfast was also excellent being hot, well presented and huge! I would thoroughly recommend this hotel as it is competitively priced, well located and we will definitely return. Thanks to all staff concerned they are a credit to the Best Western group.

Room Tip: Choose the sea view rooms, excellent views over the seafront

Sea- view rooms are comfortable and spacious. There is a tight free-parking area at the back, otherwise parking restrictions apply 8pm to 9am at £1/hour. Restaurant is ok, with good service and food. Bar service also available during the day and evening.
Enjoy the walk along the sea front into Brighton, or take the bus to save your legs and parking charges.
