“Amazing Customer Service”
Reviewed 19 May 2012

Stayed there with my wife for the Spa break for 1 night. I was greeted by the reception staff who gave us a tour of the hotel and facilities and took us to our room. We popped to the bar for and hour and came back to find our room had been tidied again and things washed up.
We were upgraded to a deluxe room which was very nice.
Food was amazing. Spa amazing.
My only criticism was that the springs had gone in my bed which meant for a very uncomfortable nights sleep. Room 24 if anyone else has the same problem. The staff were told so lets see if they fix it!
Otherwise, a great break and will be heading back as soon as we can.

Had a lovely stay at this hotel - booked 1 night spa break package and everything was faultless.
Beautiful food, wonderful room and fab treatments and the hotel itself is really beautiful. My only little niggle would be that the robes they provide for you could come in a larger size but apart from that everything else about the hotel is wonderful.

Dear RAFFSTAR

Thank you very much for your review and your kind comments are much appreciated.

We note the issue you had with the size of the robes and would be only too delighted to accommodate your individual requirements in future if you were to give us prior notification.

Looking forward to welcoming you back again soon.

My partner and I booked a one night stay deal here, which included full use of the spa both days, 30 minute massage each, 3 course dinner, and as much breakfast as you like the next day.
We arrived at about 11am, a few hours before check in so we could go on and use the spa. Our deal included a standard room ( which was lovely anyway!) however because the hotel was quite empty they upgraded us to the Honeymoon suite, South Wing room which is the best in the hotel!! We were so happy about this the room was beautiful! Old traditional decor with four poster bed, roll top bath in the room, a lovely bathroom and our own terrace. It was lovely. You need to stay in this room, no 27, the south wing.
Overall the spa is lovely, the food is great! The service is brilliant and everywhere in the hotel is immaculate. Lovely place if you want a break away and forget about the real world!
Wil definitely go back :)

This was our first spa break and it was brilliant! We booked the £199 deal for a night with a meal and breakfast, plus a treatment and use of the facilities. We arrived about 11 and were upgraded to the honeymoon suite, number 27 the South Wing, due to the hotel being quite empty. This was, we were told, the best room in the hotel, and its easy to see why! The room was perfect, a lovely four poster bed with a large window and fantastic view of the gardens. We had a roll top bath and a terrace along with a large shower room.

The staff couldn't do enough for us and the food in the restaurant was very nice, as was the cream tea we had in the spacious drawing room.

We both opted for the Swedish back, neck and shoulder massage, which both my partner and I really enjoyed. The spa was lovely, there wasnt a great deal of people due to the fact we went in April, so we were able to enjoy the facilities as much as we wanted.

Overall I'd definitely recoomend this hotel and spa to others, we had a great stay and will definitely come again!

Room Tip: South Wing Room 27!

I stayed here for my 21st, the room was amazing, food was amazing. The spa was good and very quiet when we went so we were lucky! The staff were great especially restaraunt staff! Had treatments which were lovely and came back very happy and relaxed. Would recommend to anyone! Shame I can't afford to go more!!

I have just spent the day at Charlton House on a spa day with 7 friends as part of my daughters hen party, when we arrived there was nobody working on the Spa reception we were informed they had not arrived yet (10-20am). we were just told that this is here there & there not actually shown around, then left on our own to find it all. 2 things in the spa weren't working there was no cups by the water, we weren't told where the toilets were, nor anything about our lunch which was included in our day not doubt if we hadn't asked we would have gone hungry after we came back from lunch their were so many people in the spa we couldn't even sit down & 1 of our party is only 3 weeks away from giving birth.
1 of our party booked 2 treatments several weeks ago she had the 1st one but wasn't even booked in for the 2nd one so she didn't bother. I think the customer service left a lot to be desired, their was a severe lack of inter action between staff & customer, also a smile costs nothing.
Not sure i would recommend it!!!!!!!!

Stayed here several times now - both times for work. Food is good - reasonable value for money - but remember to order some veg with your mains! Rooms are all different with names like Narnia and Melchior. Try to get one as far from the road as possible - as at least the rooms I've been in are not doube glazed. Been a bit quirky and individual the usual issues arise of kettle sometimes needing to go on the floor to reach the socket, limited wardrobe space if you're staying long ......
Rooms are generally comfotable though and clean, with slippers and robe and Bannatyne own range toiletries.
Gym is adequate; cross trainer, rowing machine, treadmill - and I think two cycles. There was water - but no cups - so bring one with you!!
Spa is fantastic pocket spa - and wasn't too busy. Certainly worth packing the swimmies - no swimming pool but hydrotherapy pool, sauna, steam room, hotub - with Elemis toiletries.
Good hotel for a relaxing overnighter and ideal for a overnight work trip!

Room Tip: Ask for one far from the road!
