Gill & Kevin are very welcoming hosts who seem to have thought of everything for their guests, and if they haven’t then I am sure they will do their best to oblige!

Their B&B is at the quiet end of the street and there is no problem parking.

We were welcomed with a cup of tea and cake in the residents lounge before being shown to room 4 at the back of the house which looks on to the fields. Light, airy and comfortable. There is a shower and a good selection of toiletries provided.

Fresh milk is provided for the tea and coffee facilities in your room plus the best hospitality tray I have ever seen. We took Gill’s homemade flapjacks for our lunch the next day.

You order your breakfasts the night before from a variety of choices and items are locally sourced.

There is a folder with local information including suggestions for places to eat, several within walking distance. Kevin and Gill are happy to give more information and can provide a table if you think a take away meal is more appropriate.

Number 1 choice if we are this way again. Just hope the excellent reviews don't mean we can't get in!

Stayed here for one night as I was in town for a friend's wedding, and was generously upgraded to a double room on arrival. Room was spacious and comfortable with nice selection of amenities and very nice shower facilities. Breakfast the next day was lovely too!

The hosts Gill and Kevin were very friendly and went out of their way to accommodate my needs (early check-in, room upgrade, letting me stay after check-out the following day when my friend was running late!).

Couldn't really have asked for more. I would definitely recommend Middleton House to anyone looking for accommodation for a short stay in Shepton Mallet.

I had to make the journey to Shepton Mallett to attend a 3-day course and my husband also came along to keep me company. We go every year to Glastonbury, but had never been to Shepton Mallett, so Trip Advisor helped me to sort out a B&B near to where the course was being held.

We found Middleton House at the end of a quiet residential street, next to some open fields, and we received a warm welcome from Gill and Kevin, who showed us up to our room.

We had Room 5. It was clean and comfortable, with everything we needed, including a thoughtful basket of 'things you may have forgotten' for £1 an item (although we didn't need to avail ourselves, there were things like toothpaste and cotton buds on offer). There were the usual tea/coffee sachets, packets of biscuits and even a couple of chocolate squares, but in addition was some very tasty homemade (and award-winning!) flapjacks. Every room has an ensuite and ours was clean and functional, though our shower was not very strong so must not have been a power-shower.

Gill and Kevin proved to be most helpful. They advised us on where we might eat (they do do evening meals, Monday to Thursday, with notice, but we ate out) and helped us with reservations and calling taxis. We were also the only guests during our stay, so we got their undivided attention, which was a bonus.

Breakfast was always well-cooked, using fresh, quality ingredients - including eggs from the resident hen - and there was a range of items to choose from, and nothing was too much trouble.

So, what was the one thing lacking? A decent pub within a few minutes' walk Still...that isn't Gill and Kevin's fault, so it had to be a 5-star review from us, for the warm, friendly and cheerful service we received.

Thanks Gill and Kevin...we hope to see you again!

There's not a lot to see in Shepton Mallet, but the Middleton House is a great place to stay. The hosts are very friendly and provide an excellent breakfast. A nice quiet place to stay a few minutes walk from the town center.

An excellent B&B with all you need for an excellent stay. The bedrooms are immaculate, light, with a well stocked selection of quality products in the ensuite.
The hospitality tray is generous and includes home made cookies.
This place has everything you could wish for including a warm welcome from Gill and Kevin. The breakfasts are to be recommended with juices, yoghurts, fresh fruit salads, and more. Kevin's selection of cooked breakfasts are to be seen and tasted!
A Shepton Mallet super place.
