Description: Fish and chip restaurant

I have sampled most of the restaurants offering fish and chips in the area around Shepton Mallet and Wells. This one is way above all the others for quality, quantity and price. Judging by the size of the pieces of fish they serve you you would never think that the price of fish had risen in recent years. It is true that there can be a parking problem, especially in the early evening when families turn up, but that simply indicates how popular this place is. Service is cheerful and fast and the restaurant is spotlessly clean. It can be a bit noisy at times but this is because it is very attractive to young families..
Highly recommended.

Called in on a journey up the A 37. Convenient parking and excellent first impressions of a clean, light and airy restaurant.
They were quite busy but we were quickly shown to a table and our order taken efficiently by a friendly waitress.
Our fish and chips arrived quickly. The cod appeared to be straight out the frier, was a good size, no oiliness, the batter very crisp and nice properly cooked flakey Cod. The chips were fine but could have been crisper.
We had the pensioners special which was really good value followed up by a generous scoop of ice cream.
We were very happy customers and will probably make this a regular stop when using the A 37.

Spotlessly clean, fast service, friendly helpful staff and excellent food. A varied menu with daily 'specials' and desserts. Has never varied in quality since the day it opened, always first class. Only tiny moan is the limited parking space.
