“Great Location”

Stayed here as our horse was running in doncaster, The hotel is in a fantastic location not too far away from the racecourse. The staff were extremley welcoming on our arrival the reception area was extremly well presented and smart. We stayed in room 1 which is one of the suites the room was very well decorated and cosey, the only issue was the widows did not open so it was a little warm and stuffy however the hotel did provide us with a fan when we requested it. The room had an amazing 2 person bath which was extremly impressive. the only real negative I have is room 1 is over the bar and you can hear a lot of what is going on downstairs which did mean we were awake until the bar shut. Overall good hotel and would stay again.

Room Tip: Dont stay in room 1 if you dont like being kept awake.

Me and my new wife had the perfect wedding day on Friday 13th June 2014. The crown has to be the best hotel in doncaster and around the surrounding areas as it has it all! We often eat for lunch or dinner and the food is great, the look of the hotel is a modern but cosy and personal feel and suits all occasions. But for our wedding it went so smoothly and we would like to give joe a massive thank you for looking after us the whole day and I believe if it wasn't for her it would not have gone as perfect, she was amazing!!!! I would highly recommend anyone who is thinking of getting married, check out the crown! Our room was also amazing, again modern and had everything and more in it. We stayed in 501 so check it out! Again thanks to everyone at the crown John & Sarah Coleman

I went for Sunday lunch with my husband and son last Sunday and was very impressed with the dining area, the choice and quality of the food, and the friendliness of the staff. We all enjoyed the 5 courses which was well priced at £19.95. I will definitely go again and will tell all my family and friends about it. The parking at the front of the hotel is chargeable but there is a car park at the back of the hotel.

Went for sunday lunch, there is a set price menu for £20 each. 5 courses. Wild mushroom starter was lovely. Didnt really need the 2nd course of soup as the main course was a large portion with a good selection of veg and potatoes. Banoffee pie was delicious. Staff were friendly and very attentive. When I rang up to book I was offered 12.00 sitting or 14.00. We went at 12 but the 1st hour there was only 1 other couple in the restaurant. People started to come in dribs and drabs from about 13.3o so dont understand why weren't offered a later time. Overall good value for money, lovely setting and great food. P.s free parking if you park in the hotel's car park, but you need to tell them your reg number.

The staff here are delightful the customer service was 5 stars
The room was fantastic and I only wish we had booked for a longer stay to appreciate it more.
The hotel bar is well equipped and again friendly staff.
Breakfast was served to our room and we was nicely surprised because of the usual breakfasts you have served in most hotels, a great selection
The bed was a foam mattress and very comfortable
I really can not fault this hotel.

This is the 10th hotel I've stayed in and reviewed in the last 5 weeks and has to be by far the most disappointing plus one of the most expensive.

Firstly, in my opinion a 4 star hotel would not make you wait until 2.45pm because your room wasn't ready when check in starts at 2.00pm.

Secondly, A 4 star hotel when it advertises air conditioning should actually provide air conditioning and not simply a thermometer on the wall which is the case here.

Thirdly in a 4 star hotel when a fan is offered and accepted the hotel actually has a fan available.

Fourthly, when guests are told it is not possible to reserve a place in their obviously, too small car park they actually adhere to this and don't reserve places for a selected few, as was the case on the occasion I stayed.

Fifthly, when a hotel is supposed to have had a refurb it should actually be a positive, may be it is but the room I stayed in 118, I would describe it and the furnishings as grotty

Finally, a 4 star hotel, when feedback is left for the manager he actually gets back to the client, all the above issues were given to the receptionist at 4.00pm on the day of our stay, we did not see and were not to date contacted by any member of the management team.

At best, and I am being generous, this is a 3 star hotel, it is a shame as it could be so much more but I believe the biggest shame is that the people of Bawtry and the surrounding areas are obviously content to accept a sub-standard service at a over the top price.

This stay should have cost no more than £60 rather than the ridiculous £120 it actually cost.

We won't be back.

Room Tip: Anywhere other than here has to be worth a go
