Stayed there for the first time last week - it has to be one of the most convenient airport hotels in the world!!!!

I arrived late - but food and drinks no probs - staf very good - rooms not bad quality - resonable size - pretty good all round.

Pricewise - a bit too much they need to price better - however - good and secure on site parking, certainly worth taking into consideratton

The sandwiches, well I don't know what the other sannies are like but the beef with horseradish was huge - a proper sandwich like you grandma would make for you after a hard days work.

You do not need any sides with this baby.

Has to be one of the best sandwiches I have had at a hotel EVER!!!

Note to hotel CHEF - WELL DONE

Make sureyou keep this size of sandwich going - great value for money.

Apart from the price, I certainly recommend this hotel - saves you having to get up at 'stupid o clock' to drive to catch an early flight

Good reception staff - nothing was a problem - check out - smooth as.

Room Tip: I would suggest calling the hotel direct and haggling - do not be fobbed off with the 'Computer...

A week long stay in an airport hotel? Well central city Newcastle is, after all, not that much of a draw, and this place is quite nice. Quiet, well appointed, and possessed of an excellent staff. Also the restaurant and bar are good, too, and breakfast is pretty good, too. In the end it was a pleasure. And if you're not used to driving on the left, from here it's quite easy to find your way to the roads north with all the pleasures and charms of the northern English countryside.

I recently stayed here for 1 night for business. I checked in at 10pm and it was pain free and easy. Receptionist was friendly and efficient. I was handed a warm cookie, which was a nice touch (although it nearly killed me as it was full of nuts and I wasn't warned - my bad for not checking though)

I stayed in room 213 and it was large and comfortable. Tea & coffee facilities in the room, huge bed, TV, water etc. Very large bathroom with lovely bath products - lemony! Had a very comfy stay and the bed was vast and I felt like the princess & the pea - without the pea! Very comfy.

Breakfast in the morning was standard buffet fare (hot & cold) and all self service. Other items were available to order on request, so I ordered 2 poached eggs. They arrived and to say the were under cooked was an understatement, in fact they were still translucent and wobbly! I sent them back, and instead of making fresh, the chef just put these in hot water for a few more minutes, so when they arrived, what i had was rock hard, very watery, very cold eggs - shocking that chefs can't make a poached egg these days.

Was there for a meeting in conference room 5 - good big room, great view of the airport and plenty of hot coffee. We ordered a working lunch and I had the beef sandwich. Beef was very tasty, but the whet bread wasn't bloomer as promised on the menu but shop bought white bread and it was stale - very stale. It was crunchy and not in a nice toasty way!

The hotel overall if a good solid hotel. Perfect for holiday makers before or after flying and great for business. The quality of the food was a bit poor, especially from a chain of this level. The chef could've just been having a bad day though.

I would stay again.

Room Tip: 213 is a great room, good size and very comfy

We stayed for one night only at Doubletree Hilton, Newcastle prior to our early morning flight from Newcastle airport. The hotel is located on the airport site and our room overlooked the car parks and the front of the airport. The other bonus for us was that we used some Hilton Honours points to book the stay so it didn't cost us anything. The hotel is very clean and smart looking inside, upon check in we were given a warm welcome choc chip cookie which was a nice touch and also very tasty. The room is well equipped with a large window although this doesn't open and we heard very little noise from outside. There is also a large screen TV, tea/coffee making facilities etc. The only thing is that the room was very hot which has been touched upon by other reviewers and even when I switched the air con down this didn't seem to make much difference after a while so my sleep was disturbed because of this. We did visit Fratellos Italian restaurant at the hotel to have some food and the quality of this was very good and reasonably priced or certainly what I had expected to pay at a Hilton. We also visited the main bar for drinks when we arrived which again is quite a relaxing place to sit and chill out. All in all I enjoyed the visit albeit for one night only. I believe that the room rate itself is £100 per night normally so paying with Hilton points was certainly a benefit for us.

Stayed here 3/5/2014 before flying the next day,,,Check in-very fast with a nice hot cookie,,Rooms-Very comfortable although slightly cramped however excellent sleep,,Gym-Enough equipment for a good work out,,Bar-Excellent choice of drinks and reasonably priced,,Restaurant-we were on dinner,b&b so was a limited set menu however we both paid the supplement for steak (lovely),,Breakfast-served in same restaurant bit rushed and chaotic though,,,My only gripe was noisy neighbours and had to complain twice ,,the 2nd time being told I was imagining it,,,so went to check out in morning ready to blow but £40 had already been knocked off the bill which I thought was excellent customer service.
