As it was The Plate day in Newcastle. City centre hotels were full or quoting over £200 We stayed at the Double Tree and used the nearby Metro into town. Made us wonder why we dont so this more often. A very nice nearly new hotel.... We ate in the italian restaurant too which was excellent and exceeded our expectations.
