Newforge House is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing break. Expect to receive first class hospitality with meticulous attention to detail. It is a beautifully maintained house and the bedrooms are really nice. The bathroom was spotless. Had a great night's sleep - such a comfy bed. Loved the window shutters for complete blackout. John, the owner is a superb chef. Dinner was amazing! The beef was absolutely the best we have ever had. Breakfast was just as good...absolutely no fat on the plate. Everyone here works exceedingly hard ensuring an excellent experience. John makes a point of speaking to all guests even after a long day. Team Newforge, thank you for looking after us so well... We hope to visit again later this year.

Room Tip: I think a room at the front of the house is wonderful

We stayed at Newforge House for four nights and it was hard to leave. John and his so very well-trained staff made the stay memorable in the finest sense of the word. I would have no hesitation at all in recommending Newforge House to anyone who wishes to enjoy their stay in a serene setting with excellent service, perfect breakfasts, delicious dinners, in a beautifully cared for home. Our every request was answered with a 'no problem' attitude and attended to with alacrity. When we needed a birthday cake - we got a perfectly delicious one - with fun candles.
Every person on the staff was a gem. Their friendliness and helpfulness could not have been better. In today's world where 'service' is so often an iffy affair, at best, it was so refreshing to be treated to the very best. During the rest of our trip in Ireland we had a great time comparing our every experience to our "John" experience. He always came out on top. I can't say enough good things about this stay.

Room Tip: Hint: If you don't like climbing stairs, ask for a room on a lower floor. It's 39 steps to...

We attended a wedding followed by the reception and an overnight stay. It was all 5 star. It was as if the staff were your friends and they could not enough for you. The food was excellent although most people were too full to be able to finish their desert, which was excellent. In the evening tea and shortbread were served. Breakfast was equally excellent. The whole house was beautiful and John the owner chatted to us and told us the history of the house and family. I can thoroughly recommend Newforge House.

Room Tip: All of the rooms that we saw were beautiful. The bedrooms were very tastefully decorated and the ens...

Stayed overnight at New Forge and sampled tea, dinner and breakfast and was thoroughly impressed. this sis a small family run establishment where the personal touch from both owner and staff made our stay very special. The decor and setting of the house is wonderful and it is certainly a place for an intimate stay. The rooms are marvelous and the food was excellent (all sourced locally and cooked by john(owner) and his wife. We will certainly be back, a real gem in the North of Ireland.

Room Tip: All the rooms are great, the house is in its own grounds and very quite

We stayed there for only one night but it was very relaxing and we enjoyed every minute of it. The hotel is located in quite area and the staff was extremely nice and helpful. The owner manages the house in a professional way and will spare no efforts to make your stay comfortable. Breakfast was good and we were offered biscuits and tea throughout the day. It is an excellent place for a romantic stay and close to the lovely village of Hillsborough and short drive to Belfast. The hotel as a heritage accommodation is a member of the prestigious Ireland's Blue Book association.

Room Tip: we had the beautiful Hanna room with a four poster king-size bed and antiques furniture, large bathr...
