“Great Day Out!!”

Landmark Forest Adventure Park
Certificate of Excellence

Attraction details
Recommended length of visit: More than 3 hours
Owner description: Winner of 'The Perfect Family Day Out' but Visit Scotland and The Daily Mail, Landmark Forest Adventure Park also won Mumsnet 'Best Outdoor Playground' award. Where else can you twist and turn through the trees on a family friendly roller-coaster, take the plunge down one of three water coasters and even get the chance to walk through an amazing tropical hot-house with hundreds of stunningly beautiful butterflies and exotic flowers!? Be intrigued at the world’s first Bamboozeleum right here in the Cairngorms; you’ll enter a magical gallery of illusions and puzzles to test the sharpest of wits. See infinity rooms, morphing machines, thermal imagery and more that will fascinate the youngest to the wisest of minds. Take an adventure down to the Wonderwood where nothing is as it seems! Here you will find three mind-boggling cabins where the normal rules of physics simply don’t apply. Which one will be your favourite – The Spinning Vortex, Topsy Turvy Room or the Growing-Shrinking Room? For those looking for a real challenge why not take on RopeworX, the first high-ropes course of its kind in the UK. According to scientists you are officially 98% monkey, so now’s your chance to put their theory to the test. Harness up and step up to the plate! For those under 1.5m, the Tarzan Trail offers a great alternative and the Wee Monkey Trail is absolutely ideal for those aged 2-5. Perhaps the mightiest challenge of them all though is Skydive. Skydive is a pure adrenaline experience, just harness up, climb the mast to 50 feet and step off… easy! Just don’t let the nerves get the better of you! The latest addition to the park is the Butterfly house, which is an amazing tropical hot-house with hundreds of stunningly beautiful butterflies and exotic flowers. Watch close-up as they hatch, fly and feed on nectar and fruit. Make sure to look out for the recently added Asian Quail, scuttling through the undergrowth! Are you brave enough to follow in the footsteps of the Lost Explorer to the safety of The Amazing Tree Mansion? Bubbling mud pools, dangerous caverns, dangerous creatures and a magic waterfall gateway are just a few of the challenges that will bring your adventurous family lots of laughs and scares on the way. Don’t forget to take in the beauty and tranquillity of the 10,000 year old forest via the Tree Top Trail. Make sure to keep your eyes peeled for some rare, red squirrels on the way! If you enjoy this walkway, then you’ll love the panoramic views from the top of the Forest Tower. Families have been enjoying Landmark Forest Adventure Park for nearly 50 years and with all these great activities on offer, it’s a must-do for any family in the Cairngorms National Park!

“Great Day Out!!”
Reviewed 19 April 2014 via mobile

Arriving at 11am, we spent until 4.30pm enjoying all of the attractions the park had to offer. Myself, partner and 8 year old son had a ball! So much to see and great place to have a wander around enjoying the nature trail! Great place to let kids play about and the adults can get a shot on things also! Recommended!

“Great Family Day!”
Reviewed 17 April 2014

We visited Landmark with our son and grandson, aged 6, two days ago. It is a fantastic place for all the family to enjoy. Our grandson loved the Bamboozeleum, Wonder Wood, Ancient Forest and the Tarzan Trail. We would also like to thank Helen Brown for her first class customer care and kind attention to our online booking hiccup - she was super! We would definitely return to Landmark on our next visit to Aviemore.

“Great outing for the family ...”
Reviewed 11 April 2014 via mobile

We have visited Aviemore many times but this was our first visit to Landmark. We can see why people rave about it as it is such an enjoyable to place to take the family. The Wildwater Coaster went down well as did the Runaway Train. The staff are really friendly and helpful and encourage the children to try out new things. You can take a picnic or get food and drinks on site. A family ticket saves a few pounds on entry. We had our dog with us and there is no problem as long as they are kept on a lead.

“Perfect!”
Reviewed 9 April 2014 via mobile

We came here with our 2 daughters aged 5 and 7. This was our second visit. The 1st was about 4 years ago we had a great time then and vowed to come back when girls were a bit older to get more out of it and boy did we ever! Great to see the newer attractions. We had a go on everything and most things more than once, in particular the rollercoaster and water slides. Firetower was well worth the climb. Bamboozleum was fantastic. Staff were fab in particular when my partner took fright at the top of the skydive, the attendant climbed up and offered words of encouragement rather than persuading him to climb down again which was very much appreciated and my partner did manage the jump! Loved the crazy lopsided cottage even though it left me rather queasy as did the votex tunnel. We liked the little things aswell such as the bum seats, the watertap etc nice touches. I have read reviews saying price is too much but I strongly disagree, if you were to add up what each activity would cost you separately it would certainly be a lot more than the admission cost and we had multiple goes on each. A funfair ride is around £2.50 for only one go each, so superb value for money. The restaurant served lovely home cooking. The drinks were over priced but thats expected I suppose. Cakes looked lovely but at £4 a slice we could justify a an extra £16 for food that day, saying that though the meals were very filling and substantial so would not have managed dessert anyway!
We spent the best part of 5 hrs there and only left as it was closing. Couldn't fault it really and looking forward to a return visit sometime in the near future hopefully.

Well done Landmark!

“Fun for all”
Reviewed 9 April 2014

Visited for the first time on Monday. Both our children (7 & 9) had a blast.
At £55 for the family it's at the top end of what they could charge for entry. We'd visit again, but maybe when our children are taller and can take advantage of a couple more things.
Can't fault the place for what they are doing, and the place was busy for early April. If I had one complaint then it was not the actual park, but other visitors and their badly behaved dogs. An extendi-lead is all well and good in a wide open space, but in a packed visitor attraction it's a recipie for disaster. I have no problem with dogs in the place, but I would strongly suggest to Landmark that they ask their visitors not to use extendi-leads. Not everyone, especially young children (and other dogs) are happy with someone's over enthusiastic dog running up to them at break neck speed while the inconsiderate dog owner is towed along behind it because they can not keep it under control. Certainly something the management needs to consider.
