Jane is a sweetheart. Rooms are big and beds are excellent. Had a great night sleep. Enjoyed breakfast and interesting people staying there as well. Very pretty garden. Easy going place to stay. Carrbridge is a pretty town.

Mellon Patch is simply the very bestest accommodation ever. The house is immaculate, warm and welcoming with fresh flowers awating you in your room on arrival. Jane is the loveliest person and a perfect hostess. She will cook you a brilliant breakfast every morning and she will make sure you've had your share and a full tummy before letting you go on your adventure day in the amazing surrounding Cairngorms! We just felt at home, just like on a break at Aunty's! We slept like babies in this incredibly quiet and peaceful house nestled in the woods, among birds and squirrels. Why Am I sharing this review with the whole world? I should keep Mellon Patch for myself!....

Room Tip: Any room is fantastic. The blue room (twin room) has a bathroom across the hall. The green room and...

We stayed here for just one night on our way north. It is a beautiful house on the outskirts of Carrbridge and a very welcoming landlady. Our room was the twin one with an immaculate separate bathroom across the hall. Breakfast was fresh fruit followed by a cooked Scottish breakfast and toast and preserves. Excellent price for this spotlessly clean accommodation. It would be a good place to stay for longer as there are woodland walks across the road and lots to do nearby. The bird feeder in the garden attracts lots of birds and we saw red squirrel opposite.

Room Tip: We had the twin blue room overlooking the garden - very nice.

Single night for a single traveller.
A warm welcome, large clean room, comfortable bed, WIFI, a 3 course breakfast (with as much filter coffee as you can drink) and fine woodland views. Birdsong - and a mixture of birds and red squirrels on the feeders.
An ideal base for anybody fishing on the nearby River Spey or the upper Findhorn.
Quite exceptional. Enough said.

I work in a very busy job, 55 hour weeks are regular and it doesn't stop when I get home. 4 years ago I was booked into this beautiful B&B with friends and I love it; April 2014 is my forth visit. Jane is so welcoming, accommodating and the perfect hostess, all the stresses and worries built up throughout the year melt away and you are transformed to the most idyllic Highland escape in the peaceful (But well serviced) village of Carrbridge. You can hear the river ruing below the house, the ancient pine forest are opposite, red squirrels jumping around in the trees, woodland birds feeding in the garden (some unique to this part of the UK) and the peace......
Plenty of places to eat in the locality for a hot evening meal. Commercialised land lives a few miles away in Avimore if that is your cuppa tea, sells everything a walker / skier needs.
Me, I just want to drink in the unspoilt beauty of this traditional village and the best B & B I stay in all year and I stay in a few!
1 word of warning take an extra belt and trousers that are a size bigger than normal Jane's Breakfast is super and will keep you going all day. In addition there is plenty of parking in the grounds, free Wi-Fi if needed as well as a well equipped sitting room for the evening (with TV if required) where you can relax with your favourite glass of single malt Scotch on the rocks (take your own not supplied) and share your stories of the day in this tranquil haven.

Room Tip: There are three rooms at Mellon Patch 1 x twin without an en suite which is great as it has a big ba...

This is without doubt the best B & B in existence, have stayed here many times.
The rooms are beautiful, beds are comfy, showers are amazing.
The location is quiet, picturesque and near to local amenities.
And as for the host Jane, she's the best, friendly, helpful, kind and caring, like your favourite Auntie.

A group of 5 of us (which fully booked the B&B) were cycling from Lands End to John O' Groats. We arrived to a beautifully clean house, with a truly warm welcome from Jane. She was accommodating and helpful. She stored our bikes in her garage with no fuss at all, showed us to our luxurious rooms. We were given time to shower and Tea and Biscuits were laid on in the lounge. Jane very kindly washed our wet and dirty cycle clothes for all 5 of us, without issue. We all slept well and woke to the smell of a full cooked breakfast. Being the only vegetarian in the group, Jane was willing to make alternatives for me. We arrived at the dining table to see fresh Mellon on the table, follow by a great breakfast and enough tea to sink a ship! Any more food and we'd happily stayed. A few photos an we were on our way.

Thank you so very much Jane. I would recommend MellonPatch in a heart beat. Trying to think of an excuse to return for another visit.
