“A very pleasant 4 days in a lovely setting.”
Reviewed 24 June 2013

Lochanhully Woodland Club has been created to blend in with the natural surroundings, and it does this very well. All the chalets are wooden, as is the main building, and scattered around the site in small groups, each chalet having its own numbered parking spot nearby. There are squirrels, rabbits, ducks who come and visit the chalet at mealtimes, bird feeders dotted about and a loch with trout fishing. The whole ambience of the place is peaceful, and there is a clubhouse, indoor pool and small gym for the use of residents - essential in winter months.
We would certainly recommend this resort and hope to visit again one day in the future.

Room Tip: The chalets are not luxurious and rather dark inside, but they are very well equipped and also have...

Stayed here for a week in June 2013. Very nice resort (grounds well kept) but living accommodation is tired, dated and very cramped. Our unit supposedly slept 6 but I would not wish to use this for more than three. Rooms are very small (especially room with double bed) and we were grateful for the conservatory which allowed us to feel like we had a bit more space and airiness. Nice clean pool on site. Not dreadful but not the standard that we've come to expect from this type of timeshare resort.
Some units have been refurbished and they may offer a more pleasant experience.

Room Tip: Request a re-refurbished unit. Beware of making use of the stated capacity. Space is at a premium e...

Just back from another week at Lochanhully, great holiday again. We had a refurbished cottage this time, no bunk beds, single bed and pull out bed underneath. As usual, staff were great, really friendly and helpful.
Weather was very mixed, even had snow one day, but didn't spoil our holiday at all. Scenery is beautiful as always.
This was supposed to be our last trip to Scotland as we are getting older now, but am now planning on going back next year, August this time, to see the heather in bloom.

We stayed over the bank holiday weekend, if I had to be honest it looked very dated when we arrived, but once inside that never crossed my mind again! The staff were great and very helpful, the lodges were very well kitted out with bath and shower, tv/DVD, cooker, microwave, fridge and all the utensils you could dream of! One double bed and a single next door with a pull out stored underneath, I also think the couch in the sitting room turned into a bed, a small conservatory come dinning room next to the sitting room. All kept very clean and tidy. The grounds were well kept, each lodge had a specific parking bay, there were no noise or intrusion from other users. The wildlife was the highlight for our two boys waiting on the nightly rounds of the ducks, rabbits and a peacock looking for food which incidentally can be purchased at the reception and also the wee heated pool which was also a big hit. Fantastically situated for Landmark and the Highland Wildlife park, all in all we were all very happy with our stay and would definitely recommend and return! Keep it up.....

Just back from a 3 night stay at the Lodges. After reading some of the negative reviews i didnt have high hopes - i got a good last minute deal and didnt expect great quality! How wrong i was! The lodge was nicely furnished - not hi-tech or lavish, but very clean and well equipped. Accommodation is small but not claustrophobic. Kitchen, perfect. Bathroom spotless. Bedrooms cosy and clean. Very adequate heating. As said by other reviewers its a great spot for wildlife - we had ducks, rabbits, red squirrels and even a peacock visit our wee plot, right outside our conservatory window (dining area) much to our kids delight! Pool was small but lovely and warm and all we needed for our purposes. There are dvd's to rent for free which was a nice touch. Didnt have anything to eat at the clubhouse (easier to eat in with 2 toddlers!) but there were plenty people giving it a try. Staff i came across were all helpful and knowledgeable. To top it off one of the days was sunny and warm so we had a great time at Landmark. Is well placed for Highland Wildlife Park too. Fantastic! Would highly recommend and we hope to have the opportunity to visit again :0)
One and only complaint - pillows really hard!!

The lodges are fairly well scattered across the site - centred around the loch. Although when we first arrived I did think the one next door was pretty close to ours but once inside we were not over looked. There is a numbered car park space allocated to your lodge so you don't have a problem with one lodges residents taking up two spaces they have to park their other car elsewhere.

The lodge is cosy - as others have said its fairly small but the main lounge/kitchen area is fairly big with a settee and an arm chair. There is also a conservatory with a dining table but we didn't venture into it much as it was freezing! The bedrooms are pretty small though. As there was only two of us we didn't use the small bedroom but there was only a wall fan heater in there to keep you warm. The main bedroom is also small and you have to mind the wall as its very close either side. As well as towels and sheets etc they also provide you with things like bin bags and stuff for washing up.

The bathroom was fairly clean - there is obviously a problem of ventilation as there was a lot of mould visible on the ceiling and tiles. The shower was amazing though - increadibly powerful!

There is plenty of wildlife to see birds, ducks, squirrels, rabbits, frogs etc. They even sell bags of grain at reception for the ducks for 50p.

The clubhouse was fairly quiet when we went in. The first night we wanted a meal but the menu was very minimal and they only served until 2000. The meal was OK but there wasn't much choice, curry, chilli, chicken burger or fish and chips I think. Its a shame they dont have a better restuarant as I am sure they could easily do some scottish classics! After that first night we didn't bother going into the bar again.

The pool was good and not too busy - the lockers were a bit rubbish though as not many had the proper keys in.

We did have a bit of a mobile signal (O2 and EE). The in lodge wifi was broken the whole week we were there - not sure if you have to pay anything if it does work!

Overall a good place to unwind and relax - but the whole place had a bit of a worn out run down feeling.

These were very basic accomodations, but they were clean and attractive. We aren't complaining, we enjoyed our stay here, very much. I particularly enjoyed the glassed in porch, where we could watch a large selection of wildlife. We were made to feel comfortable by the staff and truly loved the Scottish night. I tried a couple of the traditional dishes and I would eat haggis again, but they can keep their blood pudding.
