“Really great motel”
Reviewed 4 February 2014

The cottage was perfect for the two of us. Large clean rooms, well laid out and good clean BBQ. Only downside was weather - rain! But even then the lady owner was very helpful with her local knowledge and turned dim days into a highlight of our holiday. Cottages are about a mile from town centre, a nice walk after a meal & drink or two, you can kid yourself you have walked all those calories off.

Simply a wonderful experience. Steve and Jan are so friendly, helpful, kind and warm. Best place we've stayed at here in NZ! They gave us tips about everything you could here, invaluable!
Highly recommended!!

I felt like I was staying in my own personal dollhouse, cute little cottage. Everything was very clean and the extra beds in the living room area were already made up for us. Furnishing were a bit outdated.

My one disappointment, the Internet service. We checked in and asked for dinner recommendations. We headed out for supper and then realized we had not been given any information about how to connect to the internet when we returned to the motel. This is important as I was teaching a course on-line and needed to stay in contact with my students. As soon as we returned to the motel, around 9:15pm, I called the office to inquire about how to connect. I didn't think it was too late because we had only left for the restaurant a little more than an hour earlier. I was treated coolly on the phone because I had gotten the host out of bed and did I really need that Internet information that evening. Ummm, yes, otherwise I wouldn't have called. If we had been given the internet information when we checked in, I wouldn't have had to call.

Very quiet and peaceful. Close to restaurants, and friendly hosts.
Cottages are clean and well furnished. Remember to ask for the internet code when checking in as it is not shown in the rooms!
Plenty of activates in the area, very good for a weekend away.

Room Tip: Double Bedroom cottages are great value and very spacious

This is a great place to stay if you need a break away. Steve and Jan are great hosts and so worth the stay. We liked it so much we are going back in Feb. Neat cottages and so quiet. Within walking distance of town and Jan is so knowledgable about the local history and tourist attractions. A must to stay....

A great, quiet place to stay and well located for visiting the peninsula. The cottages are spacious and comfortable, although they might need a little airing when you arrive. Staying I the winter, we found that the heaters really warmed the main living area in next to no time. The kitchen area is well equipped and the place is kept well cleaned. The grounds are well kept and a pleasant place to relax.

The cottages are well located for travelling across to the other side of the peninsula and is very close to the Driving Creek Railway which affords an interesting experience coupled with spectacular views. Cathedral Cove and Hot Water Beach are further afield but are an absolute must on a fine day. Just be prepared for very windy roads, so travel is slower than you might expect. Mind you, it is well worth the time as it is one of the most beautiful areas of the North Island that we cam across.

PS. The Coromadel "meat keeper" has the best plain pork sausages we have ever had.

We stayed for 1 night in a 1 bedroom unit. The unit was clean and had everything we needed. Good heating ( it was rather cold outside), extra pillows and blankets.
t's a nice and quiet location. Reception was very friendly and provided us with some good tips! Would certainly go back.
