We stayed here for two nights and it was a wonderful time. Evelyn loves cooking, food from the garden, prepared with love and that is what you taste. We were lucky to eat there for both day's. Beside thats she gives you good ideas to explore the area. Enjoy the sundowning.

This was our second visit to this mountain top b and b. Evelyn is the perfect host, warm, friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the area. Plus, she is a terrific chef and although dinners are an additional cost, they are worth every penny. Breakfasts, included, are created as you request, and again, wonderful. The views from the various decks are breathtaking

We stayed two night's in Evelyne's beautiful home, designed and built as a luxury guest home. (B & B, even for New Zealand, doesn't quite seem to do it justice!) It poured with rain for most of our stay, but being in the middle of what felt like rainforest was a magical experience. The house is built surrounded by greenery, with gorgeous views as far as the sea. Evelyne really seems to enjoy having guests, she is so relaxed and hospitable, and the external beauty is matched by beautiful internal art, some Evelyne's own and that of her late husband. She is a magnificent cook, we had two superb dinners, if you stay there, do book dinner, and bring your own wine. Breakfast was lovely too, and we enjoyed meeting her other guests from Boston (helped by us all being in political agreement!). We want to go back if we get the chance.

My wife and I spent one nite at the Buffalo Lodge and wished we could have stayed a few more days. The lodge is located up a steep hill with a beautify view of Coromandel Bay. We stayed in the delux suite adjacent to our host's (Evelyn) art studio. The suite and studio are seperated from the main house by a few feet. The room was very nice and had a fantastic patio and view!!! The lodge is secluded and surrounded by rain forrest. Its also close to town. Evelyn was wonderful. She met us by name (not sure how) and was extremely friendly and helpful. We had an emergency at home (USA) and she let us use her phone with no questions asked. the lodge features her and her husbands art and was a wonderful place to lounge. Breakfast was so very special as Evelyn is an expertly trained chef. I couldn't recommend it more highly.

Where can I begin. Everything was wonderous, peaceful, sparkling clean, loved your art Evelyn and your husband's, your quiet & calm little dog, your art studio, all your flora & fauna, your amazing view from the balcony and veranda, location is perfect, what a FULL breakfast with eggs from her own free-range chickens & DELICIOUS home made jams & yogurt with amazingly yum fruits & granolas & oh yes...manuka honey, oh you freshly squeezed Coromandel tangelos for us, loved the NZ streaky bacon,......just absolutely heaven. Your purpose built, contemporary home is unforgettable too! Amost forgot, she was up early and made a fire for us too...sweet. Evelyn, you are also an amazing person. I loved our long chats. My husband & I could barely tear ourselves away as we did not want to depart. We loved Coromandel and hope to return one day. Thanks so much, Evelyn.

My husband and I stayed at Buffalo Lodge last night and it was an experience that will stay with us for ever. What a place it is! Our host, Evelyne looked after our every need and even drove us to one of the local restaurants The Pepper Tree and came back for us. She is very friendly and helpful and helped make the stay a special one. The views from the lodge are spectacular and it is the perfect place to go for a relaxing holiday. Unfortunately we were only booked in for one night and it would have been great to stay longer - maybe next time!! It is only 5 minutes drive to the town. Evelyne recommended a visit to the Driving Creek Railway which we thoroughly enjoyed. We wouldn't hesitate recommending Buffalo Lodge for a special experience.

This was my sixth stay at Buffalo Lodge and I'm already looking forward to my seventh. Evelyne is such a lovely friendly person, the perfect hostess and a fantastic gourmet chef, her breakfasts and evening meals are second to none. Her home nestled high up in the bush is spacious and very beautiful, and the views to the ocean from all rooms are just stunning! If you are looking for a magical and peaceful break away from the stresses of daily life then Buffalo Lodge is the answer to your dreams.

Thank you Evelyne for another wonderful few days in paradise!
