“Lovely Resort: huge villas, beautiful location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 May 2009

My partner and I stayed at Dolphin View Paradise just for one night but had a wonderful time there and were very impressed. On arrival we were greeted with cool juices and towels at reception. There is lots of local art on the walls in the large reception area, and also a One Ocean Diving and Tours desk. There is also internet access and games, fitness and business rooms.

The architecture is very nice and construction is of an excellent quality. This is continued throughout the resort, from the large infinity swimming pool, bar and restaurant areas, to all the villas.

The villas are definitely the highlight of this resort: they are absolutely huge and finished to a high international standard whilst retaining some traditional Zanzibari features. Each villa can accommodate up to 6 people and ours also had a private pool. There is a huge living area both downstairs and upstairs, and also a huge balcony with wonderful sea views. This side of the Zanzibar also faces the sunset, and the resort has a long jetty out into the sea, so it's perfect for romantic sunset dining or cocktails. The huge villas would also make it perfect for families or groups wanting to all stay together in one villa. It was like having our own holiday house!

The resort also has a lovely private beach and is perfectly located for swimming with the local dolphins. We were out on the water by 6:30 in the morning, meaning that for the first hour we were the only people in the water with these amazing creatures. After this all the other dolphin tours start arriving from the hotels elsewhere in Zanzibar so it can get a bit busy, and we didn't really like the way some of the other boats harassed the small pods of bottlenose dolphins.

To sum up, I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone thinking of visiting Zanzibar. The food, service, staff and location are all excellent, and the villas are wonderful!

This is one of the best resorts I have visited. The location is marvellous with the picturesque fishing village Kizimkaze around the corner. The houses are very spacious and well equipped. The main area offers a gourmet restaurant, bar and pool. There’s a wounderful palm beach and a Jetty with a bar. We also went on Dolphine rides with 100 % success every time. The service could be better, but is absolutely high class for Zanzibar standards.

We had a fantastic holly day at this brand new and charming resort at a nice a calm bay at the Indian Ocean.
Even though the garden and some of the buildings were nor quite finished and there were still some construction going on we enjoyed every minute. The staff was still new and a bit untrained, but they were very charming and helpful. They seemed happy and proud by working there. The food was excellent thanks to the two Indian cooks. They are both very experienced and have been working and trained in Europe and South East Asia as well.
It was fantastic to spend the late afternoon on the jetty ,sometimes watching dolphins in the horizon and talking to local fishermen passing by in their small Dows (boats made of tree) showing us proudly their catch.
The water is Cristal clear and it is nice to watch the changing tide. But don´t forget your bathing shoes if you want to take a swim or snorkel dive at low tide. There are at lot of fish and Coral to look at.
The houses are very comfortable and big. For us it was really marvelous to have our own private pool. Nice beds too.
Zanzibar Dolphin View Paradise is really a fantastic place to stay with your family or to go on a Honey Moon a more romantic setting does not exist.

Back in Denmark my thoughts wander to this resort where we spent some wonderful days in a friendly and kind athmosphere. The view of the sea, the snorkeling and the sundowners sitting at the jetty were extraordinary. The houses are comfortable and well functioning and the service in top. Not to speak about the food - we looked forward to each meal. The cook was even open towards special wishes.
Swimming in a big pool or in smaller individual pools is great. Trips can be arranged inland or at sea and these are inspiring in between the reading of a good book.
The resort can be recommended for all ages

Enjoy. Perfect location. Great set up. we did swim with doplhins almost from the jetty. Just Crazy. The place was not complete finished, but sure it is already very special compared to other places we went to. Some of the best food we got on our entire trip. Sundowners in the main pool. Sure Thing: We return next time on Zanzibar.

Dolphin View Resort is sitauted on the Southern tip of Zanzibar in Kizimikazi. Although the resort is not yet finished, (it should be finished in 3 months). They are 23 spectacular villas all with an ocean view, each villa has its on private swimming pool, The resort has a wonderfull jetti where ont can spend the days basking in the sun and reading away, it also has its own private beach.(which is amazing). The resort also has a Spa.

The hotel serves the best food on the Southern Tip, they serve exclusive meals which are made by the faboulous chef and serves within 15 mionutes flat.

I will definately be going back there again .. : )
