The menu read fantastic so we thought we'd give it a go. Pub entrance was warm with open fire, mood lighting and pleasant music. We were sat in the back restaurant which had no atmosphere, no music, and no other customers. My friend ordered a main and no starter, asking for it to come with our mains, which the waitress confirmed. Hers arrived first to the table. When I questioned it, the waitress she snapped at us. One friend ordered chargrilled asparagus - which was black and chewy within an inch of its life - I ordered soup of the day with "warm crusty bread" which turned out to be a toasted burger bap cut into four pieces. I had a curried stuffed aubergine which was bland, and another friend had crispy duck with a red wine juis, which tasted suspiciously like thick Bisto beef gravy.
All in all, disappointing. It wasn't awful as far as pub food goes, but with a fabricated menu and higher than average prices, we expected a LOT more.
