“Surprisingly Excellent Italian in the Jungle”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 September 2013

I have to say that my expectations were low going into this meal. As a New Yorker who grew up with an Italian mother, I didn't have high hopes that I'd find good Italian in the jungle - but I was surprisingly wrong. Our experience was limited because we had loaded up on post-surf beers and ceviche earlier, but we took advantage of two ravioli specials that they had that evening (black squid ink with seafood and and arugula cheese ravioli with tomatoes and buffalo mozzarella). Both were superb - clearly homemade with excellent ingredients. I should also say that the homemade focaccia bread, picked vegetables and garlic that are on the house are also excellent. The wines by the glass were also reasonably priced, ice cold and poured generously.

Most importantly, the service was excellent. Roberto was such a nice guy, personable, helpful and very genuine. It's great to see an owner who is so passionate about the quality of his food.

“Delicious Italian food in the Costa Rican jungle”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 August 2013

Owner Roberto De Silvio moved to Costa Rica from Italy and brought the best of his home cuisine. Everything we had was delicious and fresh. The mozzarella di bufala was so good, I could have sworn someone's Italian mother was in the back making it right there. My mother had the tuna with a mushroom cream sauce and loved it. My lobster ravioli with a pink shrimp sauce was unbelievable.

“Bon Apetit!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 August 2013

What a charming restaurant and great place for a date! The owner Roberto was so personal and helpful. We sat at the Sofia Lauren table and what ambiance! Good glass of Pinot, pasta and pizza, followed by a lemonchelo drink for desert! Lips are smacking just thinking of it. Stop in, you won't be disappointed.

“A great meal to end a great vacation in Costa Rica”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 August 2013

Our family had our last meal on vacation at Dolce Vita, and what a delicious choice it was! The owner came to our table to make sure we were well taken care of on several occasions. The caprese salad and focaccia bread were delicious to begin our meal. We also enjoyed shrimp pasta, fettucine Alfredo, etc. Everything was wonderful! This is a little outside of Playa Guiones, but it is a don't miss when you're in the Nosara area!
