I have to say that my expectations were low going into this meal. As a New Yorker who grew up with an Italian mother, I didn't have high hopes that I'd find good Italian in the jungle - but I was surprisingly wrong. Our experience was limited because we had loaded up on post-surf beers and ceviche earlier, but we took advantage of two ravioli specials that they had that evening (black squid ink with seafood and and arugula cheese ravioli with tomatoes and buffalo mozzarella). Both were superb - clearly homemade with excellent ingredients. I should also say that the homemade focaccia bread, picked vegetables and garlic that are on the house are also excellent. The wines by the glass were also reasonably priced, ice cold and poured generously.
Most importantly, the service was excellent. Roberto was such a nice guy, personable, helpful and very genuine. It's great to see an owner who is so passionate about the quality of his food.
