Nosara Playa Garza Hotel

These guys might have been best hosts in Costa Rica. Super friendly, love what they do. The hotel was clean and welcoming, the pool was excellent, and its right next to the beach. The only downside is Playa Garza is a small town (very small). If you're looking for a nice calm tranquil place, this is it. Great spot for fishers. We however were just a touch bored with the town, so for us, the restaurant was nice to have attached the hotel. Overall a great place to come for a few nights of relaxation.

This is really a hostel with a hotel price tag. Food is OK. Mattresses are old and uncomfortable. There was a bad smell coming out of the sink and shower drain. Staff does not behave appropriately...you can see the guys on their pajamas at 9am and smoking all day! They also charge more if you pay with credit card...which is illegal in Costa Rica.

I didn't stay at the hotel, but kept returning to the restaurant for the fresh seafood pastas!

Run by a gregarious Italian named Yuri, the menu is decidedly Italian, almost entirely pizza and pasta.

The special of the day is always fresh, and depends entirely on which fish was caught that morning.

Less than a 5 minute walk from Garza Beach, which is well known for sport fishing, and I imagine this is where the catch of the day comes from.

You're a fellow traveler if you prefer a Tico fishing village, beautiful beach, soulful staff, funky ambience, and spacious rooms with nice linens. Only downsides are sporadic water in hotel and no surfing in Garza. If you prefer shopping, etc., I don't recommend. But if you're a fellow traveler, I highly recommend!

I stayed here with my two good friends from MD for about a week. It's only 1 block from the beach and the rooms are spacious with ac. Plenty of hammocks to relax in, wifi, and a swimming pool. The owner and his friendly staff is what made our trip incredibly memorable. He provided us with directions, things to do in the area, good conversation, and delicious meals everyday. Did I mention he's Italian? These men are AMAZING cooks and know how to fill your soul with good food and selected wines. Costa Rica is beautiful with its sun shine, wildlife and good waves. But nothing makes a trip then the people you have met along the way that made your experiance that much better and the staff at Playa Garza Hostel did just that. I absolutely recommend staying here for your next visit to
Costa Rica. You will not regret it! :) Bellissimo!!

We stopped here for 3 nights, although a bit remote how many places can you say you have stopped in That you get the beach all to your selves, and takes 45 seconds to get too. We found the food excellent especially the pizza or fresh fish dishes. The rooms are comftable with fan or A.C if you want with an extra charge of 10us a day. Yuri has great character and is always happy to please. Fully recommended if your this way.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Playa Garza Hotel for two nights last week. It was an off-the-beaten-path treasure. We were treated extremely well by Juri and his staff, the room was comfortable albeit basic, the pool was clean and refreshing, and the magnificent beach was a one minute walk away. Playa Garza is the type of place you know will be more developed and touristic in a few years. Check it out while you still can!
