Following the advice of friends, we went yesterday evening to the Brasserie de la Gare, and enjoyed a tasty dinner. First impression: the place is elegantly decorated and the hosts are friendly. The atmosphere was relaxed and talkative, but the place is not noisy - no need to yell :-) We ordered two light dishes (a seafruit salad and light cheesed filled ravioli on tomato sauce) and were offered simple but tasty appetizers as starters. Both dishes were tasty yet light (thank God not another creamy sauce on the ravioli), perfectly fine for a dinner but probably not what I would recommend if you are very hungry - portions were adequate yet not abundant. With drinks (short drink + beer + water), the check came at under 50€ for two, which is very reasonable. Service was friendly. The place is open 7/7 (except on Saturdays noon), and considering easy parking on place Favresse, this is a very convenient address east of Brussels in the bucolic area of La Hulpe.
