“Wonderful Stay!”
Reviewed 21 June 2014

Liz was a very hospitable and entertaining hostess! The accommodations were first rate with excellent surroundings!
I would highly recommend Castleview Farm to anyone that is going to Ireland.
The location is great with ruins next door and all points in Kildare are easily accessible.
Again, great place!

Castleview was the first stop on our self -drive tour of Ireland. Mr.and Mrs. Fitzpatrick were wonderful ! They provided us with delicious scones and tea on arrival; a beautiful, clean room room; and a breakfast meant for a king!
Mrs.Liz shared much knowledge of the area and genealogy that ties into our Rice ancestors and Mr. Ned let us watch as he milked the cows! The flowers around the property -and the baby calves were wonderful! I would definitely recommend !!!

Liz and her daughter, Leslie, were great hostesses. We arrived early but it was no problem for them. The best scrambled eggs I had from chickens raised on the farm. It was quiet and peaceful and only 5 minutes from town. We would stay there again.

Cead Mille Failte! That's what we were wished here and we enjoyed it so much. Liz and Ned were so friendly and helpful. We watched Ned hook up and milk the dairy cows! Liz was very helpful in helping my sister and I look for our ancestors. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the food was wonderful. I hope to go back and stay with them again. Liz also has a green thumb and has beautiful flowers.

My new husband and I made a stop at Castleview Farm bed and breakfast on the 2nd night of our honeymoon. We waited until about 6pm to call for a room and Liz was very friendly on the phone and told us to take our time and she would be ready for us whenever we got there. The house was clean and Liz was adorable and so helpful. The stay was so peaceful, breakfast was fantastic and the castle ruins in the backyard were impressive. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay here.

Wonderful place, on a working farm, and convenient to the sights we were interested in.
Very accommodating owner, absolutely recommend .
Our room was en suite bathroom but the shared bathroom was very large and well appointed.

My husband and I stayed here the night before ending our trip to Ireland. It was truly a relaxing end to the trip and we were conveniently less than an hour from Dublin where we were flying out the next day. The B&B is about a 7 minute drive from downtown Kildare, so don't plan on walking into town to the pubs/restaurants, as it would be treacherous on the narrow road especially at night. Liz was very welcoming and accommodating in every way and breakfast was perfect (the scones were amazing!). My husband and I have stayed in many B&B's and I have to say this is one of the more outdated ones as far as the bedroom and bathroom. We stayed in the Blue Room which also strangely had a bathroom in the public hallway but we were assured it was private and only ours (I think because the other two rooms are en suite). The other thing of note is, yes this B&B is on a farm, however we stayed at plenty of family farms this trip and this one happened to smell the strongest of cow manure outside. The ruins were beautiful next door, and overall it was a decent experience.

Thank you for your review. Guests can be assured of a very pleasant and relaxed stay at Castleview Farm bed and breakfast. We are ideally located less than an hour from Dublin and just 4km from Kildare Town with plenty of good pubs and restaurants to choose from. Delighted you enjoyed our breakfast and our home baking. The beautiful historical ruins nearby can only be described as an enchanted oasis of tranquillity so glad you enjoyed them. You mentioned the "Blue room". This room is specifically designed with the wheelchair guest in mind as it has a very large private bathroom containing both a bath tub and shower opposite the bedroom fully equipped with hand rails and so on for guest comfort. In fact the bathroom is about the same size as a small bedroom. You are correct in saying that each of my bedrooms have their own individual facilities, the other two rooms are en suite. This B&B is not just on a farm, my husband Ned is an active dairy farmer, we have a working dairy farm with a Friesian Holstein herd which is run by my husband who loves welcoming any guests who appreciate country life and want to experience the farming lifestyle. They may watch the milking process, and the baby calves being fed, even collect their own eggs for breakfast. Thank you again for your review.
