“Lovely staff”
Reviewed 24 February 2014

We have just come home again after a lovely stay in this B&B, we stayed in room 30 it was massive. Great value for money, lovely and clean. The staff are all friendly nothing is any trouble, Beata the lovely lady who cleans the rooms makes you feel so welcome. The breakfast in the morning are excellent, even the evening meal in the Silken Thomas was great.

I found this B & B on the internet when looking for a place to stay near to the Kildare outlet village and was I lucky. What a little gem of a place, we had a spacious, spotless room with tea and coffee facilities. But it was the ambiance of the place which really struck home. Biyata ( hope this is the correct spelling) managed the room bookings and was a mine of information. Letting us know about the free shuttle to the Outlet village which we could get just outside the premises. The B&B is just across a car park (free to guests) from The Silken Thomas, Flannagans were we had a brilliant breakfast (6 euro extra) but we were told that if we had booked directly with Biyata breakfast would have been included. We also ate in Flannagans for our evening meal and it was great value and excellent. The staff where so pleasant and helpful. Could not do enough to make our stay enjoyable. I will certainly be back. A great choice and I would certainly recommend the Lord Edward. Thank you for a great stay.

Booked twin room, room was huge it had a double bed and two single beds in it, ensure good size too. Beds were comfortable, room clean and warm. When we booked it offered breakfast for €6 each in the Silken Thomas which is in the building next to guesthouse, we took this and enjoyed a lovely breakfast the following morning. We also ate lunch in Silken Thomas and food was very good. Well situated just off motorway, within walking distance of Kildare Outlet Village and short drive of Whitewater Shopping Centre in Newbridge.

This was a "stop off" on our way to Cork. Rooms were surprisingly large and well appointed. However the location of the accomodation in the middle of a car park was strange and made it more impersonal. Found the service when I went to pay very slow.

The room; it was spacious, clean, the beds were very comfy and it was quiet.

Generally the paintwork was shabby and grubby in places and it is situated in the middle of a car park which made it feel very impersonal and a little bit open.

The entrance to the adjoining bar & restaurant was via the smoking area and nightclub door and it was smelly, grubby and dark.

The restaurant was very good value for good bar food and the service was very good.

Room Tip: Rooms to the back would be quieter and feel safer.

My family and i have stayed there a number of times and indeed intend going back often as i regularly visit family in the area.
The rooms are extremely well looked after the bars and restuarant cant be faulted and the staff are amongst the friendliest and most helpful i have ever come across.
While you are there nip into Lils Bar and say hello to Paddy, (i was going to say pop in for a quick one but it wont be!!)
