We had a beautiful ground floor bedroom that could have accommodated a large party! It had fabulous high ceilings and bay windows and we felt like royalty! The ensuite again was roomy and some basic toiletries were supplied. As we had room only, I can't comment on breakfast, but we ate dinner in the Silken Thomas next door and the food was excellent - choice, price, service and quality. We would stay here again if in the area.

My friend and I stayed for two nights 16th & 17th July and were delighted with how well looked after we were. I am just recovering after a very hard year of treatment and this was just what the Dr. ordered. We ate in the dining room on both nights and the food was lovely and priced reasonable. Staff were excellent, room was very clean and peaceful. Will be back, shopping is great in the area and Kildare is small enough to get around on foot. Went to see Style Icons in Newbridge, terrific place to visit also. Breakfast served very quickly, no big wait like other places.

Good location, near all visit attractions, rooms are clean, the food is excellent with a great variety of menu, at really good prices. The staff are really helpful and go out of their way to be helpful and friendly. We have visited before and have never been disappointed. Good visitor attractions nearby

Room Tip: Cant add anything to this.

We had a lovely big room with a full en-suite,very clean and secure. Close to the Silken Thomas Pub or a restaurant, where the food was delicious (we dined in the pub area). Kildare is a small town, close to the Irish National Stud and beautiful Japanese Garden and St Fiarchas Garden, and the B & B was conveniently in the town square. The price for the room was very reasonable and although it did not include breakfast, a full Irish breakfast was provided at a discounted price for residents at 6 Euros. The room was next to the parking area for the complex and could be a bother if you are a light sleeper.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the parking area.

Stayed here July 2014. Staff very friendly and food in flanagans restaurant was excellent. Draft beer good too and good prices.

Free wifi very good and fast in the room. Car parking free, when you check in you get a ticket to display in your car.

To be honest rooms are ok if alittle basic. Our room had a double and a single bed and ensuite which were clean but basic. Noisey from people next door but thats not the faut if the hotel.

Breakfast next morning was excellent, full irish with all the trimmings, very nice.

Total cost €83 inc breakfast.

A good stay overall

We stayed overnight at Lord Edward Kildare in June this year. We were greeted by a friendly helpful Polish girl who showed us where to park, where the bar, restaurants were etc. Everyone at the Lord Edward were friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. Accommodation was basic but clean and we would not hesitate to recommend this establishment to anybody passing through Kildare.

This hotel is very well situated centrally in the lovely old town of Kildare. For those who like that sort of thing, Kildare Village is only 10 mnts walk but the old town itself is far more interesting and has a well placed, friendly tourist info office in the centre of the square.
The hotel comprises a pub restaurant, nightclub and separate accommodation on the same site which is superbly equipped for wheelchair-bound visitors.
We had a lunch and evening meal here. Lunch was lovely but evening meal was too much and a little unimaginative.
The pub has live music - traditional on the night we were there, which was a Friday, and was well frequented by tourists and local young people.
Accommodation was clean, spacious and comfortable and, as one of our party has mobility problems, they were very accommodating in giving us ground floor rooms. Nothing was too much trouble.
Be prepared for noisy nights!
