We are regular visitors to Annamar's and have never been disappointed. Once you are prepared to put the food first, and to make allowances for the fact that this is a small but carefully run business by the chef/patron who is always present, you will not be let down. The highlight of our most recent visit was the bisque which without question was the best by some way either of us had ever tasted. The early bird menu represents exceptional value with a limited but very well balanced selection for each course. If the quality of the food is your priority this is a must - not just in Kildare Town but the whole county! Note restaurant is open Thursday through Sunday evenings (and Sunday afternoon).

Always a lovely treat, and less expensive than in previous years. The steak is cooked to perfection and the home-made wild garlic salsa-stuff is amazing.

This Restaurant is a Gem. Excellent local produce, Game and Fish. Booking is recommended. Excellent staff and no rushing you out. Very good wine list as well. If you like Game and Fish this is the spot.

The menu was not the problem. It was your shockingly rude waitress.......who told us on arrival ' you have to be out of here by 8.30'. We hadnt even taken off our coats...

Went for a Thursday evening at 7.30pm and although early bird menu finished that time we were still allowed to pick from it and as there were 2 adults & 3 kids we went to the main menu also to pick starters & mains, Aymer the chef and owner even divided up the stake for kids into 3 seperate portions with roasted potatoes, I had a medley of fish plus we tried mussels & prawns all which were cooked to perfection, plus deserts afterwards which as it was a quiet night kids were invited into kitchen to prepare themselves, where would you get that? We had been there maybe 3 times before alone or with friends so I was thinking it may not be suitable for kids as it is a "fine dinning" experience in my view but the children were so welcome, more than welcome! We also bought 2 bottle's of French wine and were given what we couldn't consume to take home, all in all this is a hiden gem of restaurant up there with mitchelin star status, save it for special occasion's
