“Close to the Airport”
Reviewed 27 August 2013

Our last night in Italy we stayed at the Seccy Hotel because of the proximity to the airport. There is a charge per person for transfers to the airport! I want to give the hotel a better rating because the staff was extremely welcoming and helpful suggesting restaurants and giving us directions into the town. We had a 5 a.m. flight and the staff packed us breakfast. The staff is the best part of the hotel. The hotel rooms were ok. The rugs in the hallways could use a deep cleaning. I felt like our bathroom was clean but not as clean as it could have been. The beds were comfortable however the covers on the decorative covers on the pillows had stains on them. I wish we spent the last night back in Rome. There is not much to do or see in this town.

My husband and I booked a night last minute after a connecting flight from sicily to Rome changed at the last minute of our month long trip. This was the ONLY hotel without last minute rate hikes. We actually got a great deal on our room. Call the hotel for their car service from the airport. It's $20euros from the airport and $15euros to the airport... In a new black Mercedes. Taxis are 40-50 euros. The hotel is clean, roomie, near great restaurants and their free breakfast was the first time I saw bacon in a month of travel. This is the perfect hotel for a one nighter in or out of the Rome airport. Not a good hotel for seeing Roman sights though. (If you want to see Rome, rent a villa or apartment near Appia Antica and use the bus/metro to get to the different sights using a Romapass...will save you hundreds if you do your homework and Rome's public transportation is great.)

Seccy (Sessy rhymes with Messy, which this was NOT) was the perfect end to our two week European tour. As an American who travels a lot domestically, this was exactly what we were looking for. Italian family owned hotel in a non touristy neighborhood. It was squeaky clean with a larger than most hotel chain rooms in the USA and high ceilings. There are about 35 rooms, English speaking front desk, elevator, a few steps that they help you with, mini fridge and FREE wifi which worked well for us. Nice hot shower, large bathroom, wonderful smelling soaps and plenty of VERY soft towels. Large flat screen TV with Fox and BBC channels. We walked around in the working class fishing town at night and it was perfectly safe. We ate next door and had a fabulous salad, pizza and carbonara pasta. The morning breakfast was authentic Mediterranean style contenential with plenty of options and good coffee. The only uncomfortable thing for us spoiled American travelers was the energy saving card where the a/c can only be on when you're in the room. It never got cold enough for us. But hey, we got to be in a quaint ITALIAN town with lively people and see how Italian families live, on our way to the airport - 8 min away instead of staying in Rome 30 min away. You can't find all that comfort at this price in many places in Europe. Scam alert: Don't pay more than 15 Euros for a taxi from the airport. And let the hotel front desk call a driver for you. Ours was a very clean van for 15 euros and our driver even let us run into the grocery store to pick up some Parmesan cheese to take home for no extra charge. Overall, this was very "Rick Steves esq" though we found Seccy on Trip Advisor, thanks to my fellow reviewers. Moah!

Near airport, harbour and beach. Good service. Good restaurants in town. Naighbourhood not very interesting. OK for short stay, when going til the airport. Few facilities, ex. no pool or balcony. Should maybe be classified as three star.

We stayed here for the last 2 nights of our 3 week trip to Italy to be close to the airport and to shop at the nearby mall. The room was perfect; clean, roomy, nicely decorated, good wifi. The breakfast room was elegant with a very nice variety of foods. Ms Selia, the nice Nona in the breakfast room was wonderful! The hotel staff were very courteous and helpful. (The Leonardo mall was not worth staying and extra for....not really meant for tourists)

We needed to stay near the airport for an early morning flight and we were so pleased with Hotel Seccy that we will be adding it to the itinerary for our next trip to Rome. The hotel is very nice but the service was excellent. The ladies at the front desk were fantastic! We got a great recommendation for dinner. In the morning we were leaving too early to catch breakfast so they made us a to go pack of yogurt, pastries and juice. It was such a nice surprise! They also made arrangements for the airport shuttle for us. We loved the fact that the hotel is in a real neighborhood with its own personality... Walking distance to the water with plenty of seafood restaurants. Hotel Seccy was a great way to end our trip.

I searched for hours online to find a good hotel close to Leonardo DaVinci Airport for our last night in Italy. Seccy Hotel sounds good on paper, but it is pretty bad.
Room was adequate, bathroom was really tight. The worst part was when you leave the room, there's no air conditioning in the hall, and it turns off in your room. So when you return, the room is really stuffy and it takes a long time to cool off.
Noise - I could clearly hear people talking when I was in our bathroom- I think they were in the room next door. We could also hear people talking in the hall. Surprisingly, we didn't hear planes, so that was good.
Wifi - they claim it's available everywhere in the hotel, but I never managed to get it to work at all in the room and just once in the lobby.
In general, this is a very expensive hotel that tries to be upscale, but it's not even close. Furnishings were from Ikea! The neighborhood is creepy- kind of lower class and light industrial. If that makes any sense. We did find a neighborhood restaurant called La Dolce Vita that had excellent food for a bargain price. It's pretty bad when that's the nicest thing you can say about a hotel!
