“Perfect airport hotel”
Reviewed 5 October 2013

The Seccy Hotel is a great idea for a night before flying out of FCO or the first night arriving at FCO (to work off jet lag before picking up your car, or to make a morning train/air connection). (It was a 17€ cab ride to the hotel from FCO, and 15€ back to FCO in the morning, or a cab can be arranged to pick you up at Roma Termini station for 60€. We arrived at Termini by train at the end of our trip and took the Leonardo Express to FCO, and that last train was 14€ each.)

The hotel is clean and the rooms spacious, well-appointed, and quiet. The staff was very friendly and very helpful with dinner recommendations. There are many restaurants on the canal serving very fresh fish, and we found a great one and had a wonderful last night dinner.

There is wifi scattered throughout the hotel (on each floor), and ours was strong in the room. The breakfast was just fine, with a good selection and a make-your-own cappucino machine that speeds up getting coffee (you don't have to wait for staff to get it for you).

We had been in Rome in the summer and didn't feel like returning to the center, especially for one night, so this was a great idea, and we'd do it again and stay at Seccy next time we have to fly out of FCO. Even though it's not a place I'd stay for visiting Rome, I feel it's such a good airport hotel, I'm giving it 5 stars.

I agree with all of the most recent reviews. This hotel is close to the airport, reasonably priced compared to others in the area but is not a cookie cutter type chain hotel. Rooms are lovely and a good size though we found the air conditioning or air flow a bit lacking (we like really cold rooms) and the safe did not work properly but I was too lazy at this point in my vacation to phone so I just hid everything in my suitcase. Staff were extremely polite and friendly. One of the reasons I picked this hotel was the ability to walk to the downtown and see all the fishing boats and seafood restaurants. I thought it would be a lovely way to end our 2 week trip to Italy instead of just hanging out at the Hilton Airport Hotel and I am glad of the decision. We had a great walk looking at all the boats and people fishing, beautiful sunset and then had a great dinner and walk back to the hotel. Breakfast the next morning was fine, typical Italian breakfast buffet and then the hotel arranged a taxi for us back to the airport. I would recommend this hotel.

Stayed here overnight and would definitely return. Efficient service, immediate help offered with bags and advice given about 40 excellent fish restaurants along the nearby river front. Also friendly restaurant right next door with decent wine at 2 euros a glass. Rooms nicely decorated in lemon-yellow hues with modern bathroom and good amenities. Only drawbacks wi-fi very slow and parking can be a little tight. Hotel also very convenient for trains and buses to Rome.

Room Tip: Would have given 5 stars except for the wi-fi

Well located close to airport - especially good if driving, with on site free parking. Easy 10 minutes to rental car return. Decent size modern room - v clean. Much cheaper than on airport hotels, who also charge for parking - excellent value.

We overnighted here on the way back to Canada, it is just about 5 km from the Rome airport. The local cabbies charge 10 euro per person from the airport, 15 euro per taxi back. The hotel can set it all up for your return.
The reason we liked this is to see a genuine Italian fishing village for our last day in Italy. The Hotel is contemporary, Italian, spotless with very hospitable staff. The rooms are larger than usual for Europe. Everything worked. The place is in the suburbs, but--a 4 minute walk to the strip of cafes and restaurants along the canal waterfront--easy walking distance, but Quiet! There is an excellent restaurant right next door. The rates are high, like everything to do with a Roman holiday, but good value.
We found a wine store that sold wine from the tank for 1.3 to 1.7 euro per litre just 2 blocks away. (cheaper than water!). we went for the wine with the cork, and shared with some American travellers we met on the front step--the hotel staff accommodated our impromptu party with wine glasses and chairs/tables. They sold wine at 20 euro a litre but had no problem with byob.

This was a very good hotel experience and a nice way to leave a vacation, restful. The downtown is quiet, undeveloped, authentic. We watched the fishermen unloading their catch and selling it to the fishmarkets. BTW the Hotel has no restaurant, no bar. But they're close!

Room Tip: There is an elevator.

We were so pleasantly surprised by this place. We had to stay a night in Rome but were leaving driving out of the airport the next day so didn't want to go into the city but wanted to avoid the "Airport Inn" type of place. Seccy had a gorgeous room for us, not big but very lovely, comfy bed and good bathroom. The town is pleasant and interesting. Apparently there are huge Roman ruins nearby that are uncrowded and very interesting. Sadly we didn't have the time to visit them. We walked down to the water past the fishing boats and had dinner by the wharf. It was a really nice way to ease into Italy after 14 hours of travelling. The delightful fellow at the desk (I'm so sorry I've forgotten his name) was incredibly helpful and sweet. The building is well kept and breakfast was really good. A large array of pastries, cheeses and cold cuts. Perfect little stop!

Excellent location . just two minutes from the airport
The receptionist was lovely , smiling , accurate explanations helped us and mark on the map where exactly to return our rental car and where we need to take our flight after checking our flight number on a computer.
Decorated and clean room
And the hotel is also just minutes from the restaurants and the harbor.
Perfect
