I was taken aback by the outside of the hotel, but the reception was charming - I happened to get lucky when Meriam was there, and she speaks English. I was sort of whiny and complaining because, well, I just was - but I was forgiven for my not so polite behavior with sincerity and charm.
And the room they gave me? Modern, charming and sort of funky all at once - and spotlessly clean, with a cute and sunny balcony, where I sunned myself for 2 hours. It's right on the harbor and a 5-10 walk from an actual beach, with actual sand and even clean water!
I thought the decor was simple, charming and comfortable, and sort of Art Deco. Loved it. Can't stay enough.
If the city weren't such a big draw I would happily stay there, and for the layover folks, it's the perfect spot for under 100 bucks. Why spend $300 at the Hilton when for 15 Euros you'll be in cute little Fiumicino just 3 km. away, in a little village with all kinds of trippy people in it and total charm.

The taxi ride took all of 5 minutes, and yes, 15 EU is a total rip-off for 3 km. but that's the deal, because it's not a good business decision from the cab driver's point of view, when most people go all the way to Rome.

I highly recommend it, and I would definitely go again. Also - I asked for a cab to collect me at 7:15 the next morning, he was there at 7:13. Not all the reception speaks English, but they are polite and will get you what you need. Breakfast is good too.

To get food or to the harbor/beach exit the hotel, turn left, and left again and follow the main street towards the sea. You'll see an awesome gelateria on the left and some restaurants, then the sort of shipyard - empty parking lot sort of - keep going and you'll hit the beach and two beach clubs/restaurants. 10 minutes tops.

Imagine -- an airport beach......just great.

Lisa

Thanks to other TripAdvisor members, we stayed at this hotel as many others do while waiting for a flight at Rome's Fiumicino Airport. The essentials: It's clean; the room is an adequate size; the bathroom is modern and way colorful. Ours had orange and red tile walls and a day-glo green bathtub. The bed and pillows are comfortable and it's air conditioned. The wi-fi connection is good and it's free. Breakfast was included and had a nice spread of meats, cheeses, yogurt, cereals, fruit, etc. The price was right too at just under EUR 90.

The (minor) qualifications: Rooms are one floor up with no elevator. Be able to handle steps. The night desk clerk is as friendly and helpful as he could be, but his English is limited. To get to the airport you can take a shuttle that serves a number of hotels for EUR 12, but for time and convenience we used a taxi for just EUR 3 more. It's about a 10 minute ride to the airport.

This was a great little hotel! Great price, small room, but very clean with air conditioning. The bathroom was new and had a wonderful shower. Breakfast was fantastic with in-house baked goods. The best crostata I have eaten in years! The staff is attentive and the price was reasonable. We were sorry we were not able to dine at the restaurant--it is closed on Sunday night.

After reading reviews and looking at photos, I emailed the hotel directly to see if the room with the hot pink bathtub was available when we would be there. Got a nice email back, telling us they would reserve that very room for us--no problem. We took the hotel shuttle from FCO to the hotel, and were delighted with the room and the service. I believe the owner's father is the man at the front desk. We found a great little restaurant not far from the hotel. Had great pizza and wine, and were able to get a good night's sleep before the cruise. Our room was upstairs, so it was quiet. It even had a balcony, which was really nice the next morning. That pink bathtub is HUGE! So nice after an overseas flight.
Breakfast was delicious, albeit simple. We felt very safe walking around the town, finding a few cute shops, walking down by the water, etc.
I would stay here again without a doubt!

Room Tip: Get a higher floor if possible. Beware that there is no lift!

After returning from a cruise we decided to stay near the main airport before flying home the next day. It took us some time before we found the local taxis - the other taxis drive into Rome and further afield. The journey to the hotel took about 20 minutes and was in the small town of Fiumara. The hotel looks very unprepossessing from the outside but the inside is spotlessly clean and the rooms spacious. There was a kettle and tea/coffee - the all important air conditioning, toiletries, and an extremely comfortable bed. The town is famous for it's seafood and people drive there from Rome to eat in one of the very many restaurants. If you don't eat seafood then you'll be hard pressed to find an alternative meal. The town is on a river that flows in from the sea and which is lined with fishing boats and nets. A lovely little town to walk around.
The hotel's restaurant is upmarket and expensive but very popular. The staff were very helpful and I was able to print out our flight boarding cards for the following day.
We arranged a wakeup call to our room and a local taxi arrived at 6.30am to take us to the airport (15 Euro). I did question the staff as their website had said they ran a free shuttle but was told it didn't start until 8.30am, therefore I was upset to see the shuttle arrive at the airport as the same time as our taxi with the names of participating hotels written on the side - our hotel being one of them. Despite this one factor I would still highly recommend the hotel.

Room Tip: We were in room #10 which had a small balcony where you could look out onto the river and boats.

We stayed here for one night before a flight back to the USA. We arrived very late at night and had to leave in the morning which was too bad since the room and the place are so nice.
From the outside it does not look like much but it is a real gem.
The staff was also very helpful. They allowed us to store luggage here for two days before our arrival while we headed to Sicily. It was a real nice perk.
No need to stay at a $300/night Hilton at the airport; this place is great.

We stayed here for just one night based on once again previous reviews. Overall this hotel is a good choice for just a night or two. The man at the receptionist desk was friendly and spoke enough English to assist us with the room, taxi, and restaurant directions etc. Contrary to previous posts ! The hotel was clean and our room was small but quaint and the bathroom was kinda cool ! See the pic. Breakfast was really nice and the lady that was the server was very friendly and helpful at 6:30am. The hotel is very close to some really good seafood restaurants and a gelateria. The only reason we rated it average is our room was right on the main road and even earplugs didn't help combat the traffic noise which went on all night and into the early morning. Caution; do not accept a street level room on the main street !! You will not sleep unless you pass out. So other than that hiccup this hotel is a good value for Fiumicino.

Room Tip: Do not accept a street level room ! Unless you like road noise all night.
