We went the last week in October on a Tuesday night. All Italians and always full by 8:30. Be sure to make a reservation! They sort of automatically brought a variety of antipasto but you can tell them what you don't want! Fabulous scampi. Fish very fresh and the waiters are very nice. Owner goes around to chat with every table. If you are staying overnight at the airport before leaving take a cab here!!!

Stayed at Fiumincino for one night before our flight home. Not the most attractive part of Italy, but La Lampara made up for for the less than salubrious surroundings.

It's the real deal! A restaurant full of locals, not a tourist in site! The restaurant is authentic, not flash decor, but clean and loads of genuine character.

The owner (a real character) and his staff speak little or no English, and the menu is only in Italian. Despte all of that its not to hard to order the best Italian seafood you have tasted. Everything you could imagine, from vongule, scampi, to lobster with pasta and more. But the best surprise is when you get the bill, it's so cheap you have to check it twice, and even then you feel you have got meal for a song!

Can't understand why this is not rated number one rated restaruant in Fiumincino, but if a room full of locals eating great seafood is any guide, then this place requires no further recommendation.

Highy recomend this local little tavern. It was very popular with the locals and is full by 9pm (arrive no later than 8.30). The staff speaks no english, the menus are all in italian but both the atmosphere and food were lovely. We tried linguini with seafood, salmon risotto, fried seafood, tiramisu, gelato and an awsom frozen lemon "slush"!! We went back twice in teh 5 days we spent in Fuimicino and would recoment it to everyone. Tried more fancy restaurants facing the harbour aswell but their food just simply could not compete + the prices at La Lampara were awesome! We had to check the bill twice to see if they missed anything, it was so cheap.

Loved it!

I can suggest the fish soup that you have to order the day before.
All the portion are big and the price is very affordable.
The service is very fast even if not so accurate and elegant.
The disadvantages are that the tavern is very noisy, it smells a lot of kitchen and it is not elegant at all...but...it is a tavern!
Very suggested.
