After much research on the internet, only to find restaurants closed on Monday nights or not opened at 7.30pm in Fiumicino we resigned ourselves to the restaurant next door to the hotel. Having only 3.5 stars we didn't have much hope for it. We were so pleasantly surprised. The seafood linguine was delicious and had plenty of seafood in it. The wood fired margherita pizza was thin and crispy and delicious. The waitress also brought out extra plates so we could share our pasta and pizzas. We also had 2 beers, a wine, a water, a tiramisu and two cappuccinos and were very full by the end of the night. The bill amounted to 36Euros ! What a bargain for scrumptious home cooked food.
The restaurant soon filled with locals and a steady stream of take away pizzas. Children were given drawing pencils and doughs to play with. The locals ordered many delicious looking food that stirred our curiosity.
The staff and owner didn't speak English and we didn't speak Italian but we still managed to make conversation through gestures and hand signals.
Highly recommended. Look no further - we did only to find it next door.
