My wife and I have just returned from our 'cook's tour' of Sicily and stayed in the neighbouring campground which we used ss a base from which to to explore the abundance of foodieness that overwhelms this fabulous island
We dined here twice with the food enticing back for our last night
The best food we ate was at Duomo in Ragusa - another class - another review
but here the format is that booking is essential with the fresh complete Italian format set menu changing every day - as a cook and foodie that to me is as it should be as in Sicily eveything IS so fresh- so why wouldn't you cook a fresh menu every day?!
Your booking does not guarantee where you or anyone else sits- that is as first come first served as it can be- i e if you are an Italian family of 8 you won't find many pre- laid tables for that number!
The point is that the service starts from 8 pm for all and we found the anti pasto and pasta courses to be the stand outs but all very good well presented modern dishes
I advise arrival on the nose of or a tad before 8 as the theatre of nature gives you 40 minutes or so through your complimentary aperitif and anti pasto on the beautiful open terrace before the sun in all its Sicilian splendour sets before the bay teams with the lights and soft chugging of the fishing boats
The punctuation for me is that my favourite Regaleali wine Cattarato was available
I have to admit that relatively speaking this is a tad on the expensive side but as a frequent diner in Rome the same would have cost near double
PS - this is Sicily - don't expect an abundance of anything other than the freshest of fish or the best of vegetables and herbs

We were not hosted in this hotel but advised to try its restaurant.

Indeed, the dinner was tasty and various, in spite of its fixed menu.

A bit too expensive, though.

I stayed here for 4 nights in late July-11. Rooms are a bit small but nice, with old sicilian style furnitures. What is really amazing is the food experience.. Everything was from good to excellent and the "cous cous" night was unbelievable. And with the 10 euros discount for hotel guests, it simply makes going to another restaurants pointless.
Another interesting feature is that the restaurant is on a terrace facing West.. so you can enjoy the amazing food admiring the sunset. this is sicily at its best.
the pool is ok and a nice plus in case you are not willing to go to the seaside.
the beach close to the hotel is very very nice, but there's no sand, so if you have a baby (like it was for me) it's not the best one.
a very large sandy beach is a couple of miles away.. you park the car and take the small (free) electric-train that goes along the coast.
I think this is a great place if you want to relax and enjoy the seaside

Room Tip: they all looked similar to me
