“Good for the price. Easy access to Citi Centre”
Reviewed 5 May 2014

What I like the best is how easy it is from the hotel to the citi centre. An easy walk and you can visit the centre, port and the bus stop.

It is a hotel that is used by people within Europe. You won't find many American travelers. This is fine for me but you should know this. The reception staff speak english. The bistro/bar staff can communicate somewhat but not great. My favorite staff person was David at the reception desk.

The hotel is nice. I had a problem with ants in my kitchen. My other comments is that there is no dishwashing soap or tee towels for doing dishes. That was a bit difficult since I was there for one week.

The bed was moderately confortable. It was two twins made into a larger bed.

Overall, it was a good experience at the hotel.

Room Tip: Bring a small bottle of dish soap and a wash towel

Perfect location, wonderful staff, catering for young and old. Going out of season made it especially tranquil. Water was till cold, but that didnt stop the kids. The view from our garden was breath taking. Apartment clean and comfortable.....we will return.

Reviewed 25 October 2013

We stayed here for 2 nights in October 2013 and were lucky to be blessed with fantastic weather of 26 - 28 degrees during our entire 10-day trip. Sicily has been a reguar destination of ours for the last 10+ years (lots of extended family here), we have travelled to most parts of the island so we have a good understanding of typical standards.

At the Villagio Cala Mancina we had a cute simple, clean room up the hill toward the back of the property. It was on the ground level and had double doors with louvre shutters that afforded a lovely view of the sea and mountains across the gulf, along with the charming sound of mountain goats' bells in the hills behind. You have a small table and chairs out the front where you can sit outside to take in the view, which we did in the evenings with a glass of wine before heading out to dinner in town.

We don't bother self-catering but there was a small kitchenette with two electric hobs (no oven, microwave or kettle) and a couple of pans, a stove-top coffee maker, crockery, cutlery, glasses etc.

There is a definite holiday village feel. As it was not high season there were not too many guests but I could imagine it would get quite hectic around the pool area when it's fully booked with lots of kids. We were glad there was no music being pumped out (as often is the case at holiday villages/resorts) but maybe that was because it was not high summer and many of the guests seemed older.

Staff are very friendly. The charming gent at reception (sorry I forgot his name) speaks perfect English having lived in London for many years. Our only confusion was that our online booking confirmation said breakfast was available at an extra10 euros. However when we went to the pool/bar area on the first morning they seemed very surprised when we requested breakfast (of course confirming we were happy to pay). My husband speaks Italian so the lady explained that breakfast needs be requested in advance, as they expect that almost everyone self-caters. It was resolved in a friendly manner as she kindly and happily rustled up some yoghurts, packet croissants, ham, toast and lovely fresh fruit and coffee for us. So if you want breakfast make sure to let them know but it's probably just as easy to stop on the way to the hotel and bring your own bits and pieces for the morning.

A great convenience is the free, gated, on-site designated parking.

The location of the Villagio is ideal, just a few minutes stroll past some nice private houses to the sea and San Vito Lo Capo town centre. The long, sandy beach is fantastic (lovely clear, calm water) - we rented an umbrella and two sunloungers for 8 euros all day. We had two blissful beach days as the weather was fantastic and the atmosphere lively, but without the high-season crowding.

In short, we would certainly stay again if looking for simple, pleasant accommodation in an ideal location. We found it great value, we could not expect more for the £60 per night,we paid considering the location, nice view, cleanliness and friendliness. (We overheard a lady guest - a Milanese version of TV's "Hyacinth Bucket" - busily complaining about everything, clearly having expected the Four Seasons.

For balance, my only negatives about the accommodation would be that we could hear quite alot of conversation and movement from the adjacent and above rooms. We were out most of the time so this didn't bother us, but it could be annoying if you were staying for a while and had noisy neighbours or groups. Also the shower hose could've done with a simple hook on the wall, I can't wash my hair with only one hand!

Great hotel located close enough to walk to the Cous Cous festival, yet far enough to not hear the late night noise. Located approx. 2 short blocks to one of the most beautiful beaches in Sicily! And close to incredible restaurants. We had two rooms, one with small kitchenette, that we enjoyed making breakfast and lunch. Weak Wi-fi, hope it improves! We can't wait to return.

Good choice if you are traveling with children and are looking for an apartment for self-catering (as wee did). There is also a bar/restaurant on the site but they do not seem to offer a large variety of food (we never saw anyone eating there and the caffe was among the worst during our entire trip...).
Beach, village of San Vito with restaurants, bars and supermarkets are in walking distance (5-10 minutes walk).

Rooms are clean and the kitchen is equipped with all basics. Some rooms have a nice view over the bay. Self-laundry is available. Staff is friendly however, there is not much service such as change of towels empty trash bins etc).

The entertainment at the pool is very loud – they play music all afternoon and early evening (for whatever reason ). Pool is closed over lunch time. Would not stay here as a couple or single but good choice for families.

After trailing the website and reading various reviews i decided to go for this property because it offered a sea view apartment with enough space for 2 adults and 2 children. I am so pleased that we booked, it was just perfect. Our apartment overlooked the port and beach of San Vito, it was so peaceful that all we could hear were the bells of the mountain goats on the hillside behind our apartment.

The rooms were so clean, with a large spacious shower room, small walk-in wardrobe, large double bedroom plus 2 sofa beds in the lounge area. Perfect for a family of 4 (my kids are 8 and 3).

As a base, these apartments are perfectly located as it is only a short walk into town - the centre is much more hectic ...i saw other hotels that i had been considering and was pleased that i had not booked them.

I found the staff particularly friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble - this was right through from booking up until departure, a very good team of staff at the property.

The hotel also had a great swimming pool (although we only used it on one afternoon), a small kids section which was great for our 3 year old.

All in all the perfect place for us and i will book again if we return.

Room Tip: The sea view made all the difference to us, i think it's always worth paying something extra if...

A whole bunch of small apartment buildings surrounding a nice pool, with very tidy and nicely equipped rooms with kitchenette and balcony or terrace. Dedicated parking place. Very close to the public sandy beach. Professional and helpful staff. The only downside was that wifi did not reach room interiors, but was accessible outside the building. Highly recommended place!
