This little restaurant was recommended to me by locals as being the best restaurant in the Cacela / Manta Rota area
When we entered, the owner and his staff were eating their own dinner, but the owner nonetheless sprang into action and handed us menus in English.
I had clams to start, followed by beef Portuguese style (tender fillet steak with a slice of bacon and a fried egg on top, surrounded by crisps/ potato chips, all in a tasty gravy). My wife had a large chunk of salmon with potatoes and vegetables.
Everything was done to perfection.
The restaurant is tucked away in a side road and is plain inside, with a simple menu, yet is clean and charming.
