Yes before I went, I was bit stressed by the reviews having booked in Feb it was still RUI. Arriving at the grand entrance, all the stress was gone :) taxi from the airport was 80euros, which was expected. We arrived at 11am, we were hoping to get 1 out of the 2 booked rooms to dump our luggage in, but as the hotel was full we only had to wait 45mins, then the next room would be ready in a further hour very good standard of rooms, maybe could do with a revamp, but for all the time spent in them not a biggy!!! pool area was brilliant, very clean, maintence and cleaners could be seen working hard all the time. great sunbeds, even additional matteresses for comfort available for everyone, yes people were reserving sunbeds, i didnt bother getting up early, everytime i went down, we had no problem getting sunbeds for all FOUR of us. Every two sunbeds had parasols which seemed new, could put then to which ever height you liked, even titling then so i could get my sun and my friend could be in the shade. There was no shortage of entertainment staff, they always asked if we wanted to join in, I chose not to as i had a foot injury, there was no pressure to join in!! they were friendly and professional at all times!!! FINALLY THE FOOD - one word EXCELLENT!!! The buffet restuarnt was top quality, food being freshly cooked at all times. Breakfast consisted of the usual cereal fruits cheeses and nuts. Hot food has everything, a chef was cooking fresh pancakes, then another chef was making omlettes to order, i even got a ham, mushroom and cheese done just the way I like it. LUNCH and Dinner, they have lots of locally sourced fish, but they also provide pork, turkey, chicken, veal, rabbit and beef to balance it out. Salad bar was impressive, potato salad was delicious!! One evening they had sushi and oysters, never in a 4star hotel have i seen that!! The quality of service was excellent, lunch time you help yourself to drinks, dinner drinkis are served by the bottle including wine and coke. I would like to thank the staff in the restuarant and bar salon for there excellent english and care for me and my family, my friend and I even created our own cocktails and they were delighted to make them for us. I think we were the only english people in the hotel and I loved that......

We've just spent two weeks August/September in this hotel & it was not what we expected! It was packed and sunbeds were impossible to get. For the first four days we had to go to the beach (where you pay for your sunbed) & it was all a little disappointing. The clientele were all Spanish or German (all families with children) & we did not hear an English accent until the second week! The food in the restaurant was excellent with a wide ranging choice though the restaurant in terms of style & layout favours a very large canteen. We found the reception staff helpful (though we had to fight for the room we had reserved) & the staff in general were very friendly. The hotel itself (apart from the entrance hall) needs total renovation as it is tired looking.Would we go back? Would we recommend it?Both answers --no!

Room Tip: Make sure you don't get a room over looking the carpark!

Just returned from holiday, was worried before we went after reading some of the reviews.
Staff could not do enough they were really helpful and pleasant even although the hotel was full. Food was good yes there was a lot of fish but not often you get a choice of lobster in an all inclusive hotel or the head chef coming round asking what you thought of the meals. Nice touch coming round in the afternoon with samples of food and drinks at the pool. Room ,hotel and pool really clean. A few professional shows at night however the team worked really hard to keep everyone happy, never had the option of Spainish lessions before, Hotel in a good position near to the beach however the overall area is not that intertesting as the village is a bus ride away, Nerja is easy reached .The hotel is a good place to relax or to use as a base to see costa del sol.

Just returned from a weeks holiday at the Malaga Playa. We had read the comments from other guests via Trip Advisor just before leaving and were a little worried about some of the comments written. Thankfully we were delighted to find extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean accommodation which was quite grand looking. The pool was large and again spotlessly clean as was the surrounding area to the pool. Yes the sunbeds were still being reserved quite early in the morning but as each day passed more guests were taking notice of the managements request not to reserve them. This happens in hotels in general especially in high season. The food was well prepared and presented and there was a good choice. The veal which was carved from the bone as you were served was especially delicious! Congratulations to the 'COACH' who motivated us to take part in aqua fit classes. We certainly benefited from the exercise and his humor!!! The hotel has a real star there. He and the animation team are committed 100% to their work and although we don't normally join in with events at hotels we enjoyed the holiday all the more from being more active and it was a good ice breaker meeting guests from other countries. As for the location yes the hotel being so attractive did stick out like a sore thumb in the Torrox Costa area but the bus journey to Nerja was short and cost 1.05 Euros . The grey sand beach was only a few steps from the hotel and we enjoyed watching the beautiful sunsets . All in all a lovely holiday.
