“So relaxing.....”
Reviewed 25 August 2014

We stayed in this hotel at the end of July/beginning of August and couldn't believe how peaceful and relaxing it was. If you want hustle, bustle and nightlife this is not for you. This is a couples hotel and get a great mix of different people without the noise.
The hotel has recently been refurbished and there is still some bits that needed doing in the rooms but in general the hotel was very clean and tidy. If you can afford the upgrade I would go for a sea view room.
The staff were lovely, nothing was too much trouble and they were all very helpful and friendly. Nick, the representative was also very helpful and knowledgeable. The resident entertainment duo Connor and Paul provided excellent background music and a special well done to Connor who carried on regardless of the unfortunate island power cut.
The area is very quiet and not much around but still very pretty. Be aware that there is only three buses a day which go to the capital Mahon so travelling around the island isn't really an option unless you hire a car, which we did. This was sorted out by Nick and was very reasonable and well worth doing.
We stayed all inclusive and this is by far the best option as even the cocktails and certain bottles of wine at meal times are included. If you do stay half board be aware there is not much choice of places to go outside of the hotel to eat etc. and many of the people who were there when we were upgraded to all inclusive within the first day or so.
Also, we would recommend having a massage at the spa as this was the best massage both myself and my husband have ever had. We were given 15% off so well worth it.
We would certainly recommend this hotel if you want a completely chilled out and relaxed holiday. We will definitely be going back.

We stayed at this hotel in early August.

On arrival we were greeted with a glass of cava and shown straight to our room which was ready as we arrived in the early evening. The air conditioning appeared to be stuck at one position, but the temperature was fine so that didn’t bother us. I must say I was a little disappointed in the room as I was not really expecting what we found. The fact that some furniture was old didn’t bother me, but when you looked into the gap between the chest and the cupboard that it sat in, there was lots of “stuff”(fluff crumbs etc.) trapped there, which didn’t look so clean.

The bathroom had also not been updated: there were yellow stains from the toilet to the marble floor for example, so a refurbished room was more redecorated from my viewpoint. I understand that the rooms at the other side of the complex have been fully refurbished.

That said it was still comfortable and spacious. The bed was huge as other people have said. There was a kettle and a couple of cups, with the usual supplies for a hotel (coffee, tea, UHT milk, etc.) Fresh bottled water was supplied daily. There was also a fridge in the room which was useful.

The wifi and TV signal were not particularly stable, but we weren’t there to catch up on emails or TV!

The common areas of the hotel are very well looked after, the pool areas. There was a little bit of reserving beds going on, but we are not particularly early risers and always found a space, even if it wasn’t on the Balinese beds!

The food selection is excellent. Breakfasts were a choice of breads, muffins, waffles, pastries; pancakes, eggs, a speciality, baked beans, sausages, cheeses, fruit, yoghurts, salad, smoothies and juices. The coffee at breakfast was very good I wish the rooms had the same! Lunches and dinners followed with similar variety. If you do get bored of the buffets, the pool bar has great lunches, the Italian does lovely dinners too. We were all inclusive and this seemed the best option. I hope that the village of binibeca doesn't suffer because of this though.

The evenings I would class as quiet entertainment, the bar does a brill gin and tonic!

It would appear that the hotel are still working things out, we saw quite a few changes implemented or being tried out. Apart from the rooms that haven't been refurbished, I hope they don't change too much as it's fine how it is.

Room Tip: Go for the rooms with lower numbers to the right from reception

Lovely Hotel, brilliant staff especially diego, Oscar, very friendly nothing too much trouble. Reception staff very helpful in finding a restaurant that had been recommended and arranged taxis, thanks to Agnes and Twokey.
Food and restaurant very good. A very enjoyable holiday.
took two trips - Citadella and boat trip - both well worth it. Good Thomson rep (Nick).
Bit of a fight for the balanese beds - don't try to leave your towels - they will be moved and if not you will have very irate Engish couples glaring at you for the rest of the day. My husband got up at 6.30 and swam for an hour (in training for Triathlon) so towel on beds acceptable if you are around. Once you are there you can then come and go all day - just not good to leave the beds empty for hours at a time - not fair as there are only a handful.
Binibequer very quaint but not much there - still wonderful views from the hotel over the mini harbour and fantastic when lit up at night.
Otherwise fantastic holiday - good flights.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the sea are lovely although the ones on the ground floor are along the bridle pathway s...

Got back a few days ago and really enjoyed our stay. Very clean everywhere, lovely food with good service. We did manage to have the balinese beds most days but there were always spare sun beds around. Our room was spacious with a huge bed and bath, again spotlessly clean ( the cleaners were like busy bees around the place, all credit to them). We also had a free safe in our room which was big enough for an I pad. We went AI which I would recommend as the drinks package was so good. Thomson rep and entertainment rep always about if you needed them and the evening entertainment was fine. We would definately return as it was a short flight, short transfer and lots of sunshine !!! Try the spa for a massage because again it's good value. Well done to the staff as they have the right balance of being friendly but not intrusive.

Room Tip: Don't worry about the rooms they are all good and if you do have a problem I am sure the hotel a...

We have just returned from a week at this hotel. It was wonderful from start to finish. Being an 18+ hotel it was very peaceful and relaxed. We have stayed in a lot of Thompson Hotels and I have to say the staff here were the best we have ever met. They always had a smile and from breakfast to late at night could not do enough for us, they work so hard and must have been tired in the heat but you would never know!
The food was top notch, being a chef myself I am often critical of food in hotels but this could not be faulted. Loads of choice and beautifully cooked and presented. Fresh fish, steaks etc cooked to order and the salads veg and pasta were constantly being replaced so it was always fresh. Also unusual for a lot of hotels the desserts were to die for(def need to diet lol)
It is worth up grading to all inclusive if only to sample the fab cocktails!
There is not much to do in the area, which didn't bother us because we were here for a well needed rest. Binibecca beach is a 10min walk and is ok, lots of children and pedalos etc There is a bar serving drinks and coffee, but it closes early . We preferred the rocky coves just across the cliffs from the hotel where the sea was easily accessible via some steps for a swim. The swimming pools at the hotel were also great and never crowded.
The hotel has recently been refurbished and the rooms are well equipped a large fridge that actually kept drinks really cold and even had an ice maker.. The shower was amazing and the bed enormous, the air con was also very good and could be left on all day so the room was beautifully cool on your return.
All in all a wonderful hotel that we will def go back to.
One word of warning though, there are not that many sea view rooms with balconies and quite a few people were unhappy with the room they were given as they expected a balcony and got a terrace instead, some of these are fine with sun beds etc, but a lot open straight onto a public walkway that runs through the hotel and is used by the villagers. The only gripe in an otherwise perfect holiday.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view room with a balcony but be aware that there are not that many and you may have to...

Just got back, 16th august 2014. A really enjoyable week in this adults only hotel, staff very friendly and attentive, pools very clean as is the rest of the complex, very worthwhile upgrading to all inclusive if you are half board, this can be done in house for 20 euros per day per person. Food was very good but much the sameish. Well worth the money and we will be going back one day, also thanks to Ena and Libby for a great night. Chris and gill.
