“Wedding Day- excellent”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 August 2013

From our first initial enquiry to our wedding day, the staff have been very helpful and supportive, nothing was too much trouble for them especially susanna (wedding co-ordinator). Some of the wedding party and myself stayed there the night before the wedding. The rooms was very clean and tidy. Fresh towels every day and clean bedding. Had a comfortable nights sleep. We ate in the restaurant, the food was excellent and reasonably priced. Some of the wedding party have various food allergies, all these was cater for with no problem.
The venue its self was fantastic for our wedding as it has a little something for all ages, the children was entertained with the bouncy castle and the animals, while the adults relaxed with a drink. We would certainly go again whether it be a meal or an over night stay.

My worst hotel experience ever (worldwide). Disgusting lack of cleanliness and hygiene. This hotel needs to be revisited by the food and hygiene/public health inspectors and avoided by guests. We did not eat at this establishment for fear of food poisoning. When it was brought to the attention of the receptionist she was totally uninterested and paid more attention to her dog at the reception desk. Care Home Chic meets Stig of the Dump. Surprising to have a view of the hotel laundry drying on a line outside of the bedroom window, punctuated only by a cruising peacock and a donkey with an erection!

I stayed at Arties Mill and found all the staff to be courteous and professional ( by the way, they were like this on the phone too when I made my booking ). Nothing was too much trouble for them and they went out of their way to be helpful.
This hotel advertises as dog friendly and is without a doubt exactly that, my GSD was made welcome and the staff even went out of their way to show me a few local dog walks. Unlike many hotels that advertise as dog friendly, there were no restrictions and no extra cost for the dog.
Breakfast was first rate and served hot and freshly cooked to order.
Overall, an excellent stay and I will certainly be returning here on my next visit to the area.

Stayed in a family room when attending a friend's function. The room was very old fashioned, very tired in appearance and a little bit dirty around the edges e.g. the toilet hadn't seen bleach or limescale remover in a long time. All the corridors were in need of decorating too. The bed was reasonable quality but very small for the size of room - a standard double in a room that might be considered suite-size somewhere else.
On the plus side, the staff were pleasant and the price wasn't that high. The restaurant seemed popular with guests and locals alike. I ordered a small lunch and it wasn't bad.
I have been told that there are superior options at similar prices available in nearby village pubs and will be tempted to try them in future rather than return here.

If you like cleanliness and good service or even a bed not double booked AVOID AT ALL COST ..... bathroom was filthy never seen bleach in a long time....they are terrible with over booking rooms also...during our stay four rooms were over booked due to very poor management..all the people had to be taken to other hotels in area..distressing to all concerned our familys golden wedding celebrations that evening was stressful and tearful and left memories we would rather not have had.totally ruined by incompetent staff...the cleaner (lovely lady)not her fault...but had to put her mop down to cook our breakfast....short staff or what??? not the best hygiene??? after reading the reviews we were looking forward to stay at arties mill...but would never ever go again or recommend to others either.......stay clear...

Room Tip: rooms to the south have pigs....rooms to the north have noisy peacock and donkeys..rooms to the east...
