“New visitor attraction, wheelchair accessible”
Reviewed 18 September 2012

Imaginatively created, restoring open cast mine to a visitor attraction. Sculptured landscape in the form of a reclining female figure. Many paths wind their way around the gorse, which rises to 300 feet. Once on the head, very interesting to be able to look down on the current workings of an active open cast pit. All but the very top of the head was accessible with a wheelchair, although pushing the manual wheelchair was a challenge, it posed no problem for an electric wheelchair.
Will be interesting to watch this site develop, to see what wild life the ponds attract and what sort of facilities will be provided. At the moment there is a suggested donation of £2, which unfortunately many people we saw ignored. There should be a minimum charge of a £1 a head at the moment,

“Brand new landmark. Beautiful views”
Reviewed 17 September 2012

This is a brand new visitors attraction in Northumberland right next to the town of Cramlington. Its a lovely place to jog around, walk your dog (on a leader), or just simply climb to the top and admire the views. I loved the eco friendliness of the site, however it is unfinished as yet. Once all of the facilities are in place I will be giving it 5 stars.

“Imaginitive use of a slag heap!”
Reviewed 16 September 2012

Better viewed from the air due to its size, but worth a visit nonetheless. Easy access for all including wheelchair users. It had only opened the week before so it will be interesting to see it again on a future trip. We knew where it was and could even see it from the road, but there were no signs to direct cars into the site. This needs improvement, but I expect they'll get that sorted soon. It's free but donations are requested. There are no toilets and no food outlets (yet?)
