We cannot thank The Grand Hotel enough for a perfect day of celebration, from checking in to the wonderful suite to the impeccable service of the waiting staff at the wedding breakfast.
Although the weather was horrendous it made no difference to our day, even when its raining the views are incredible.A lot of family and friends had travelled a very long way, and all were impressed with the standard of every aspect of the hotel, bedrooms, cleanliness, the food and service.
All the staff at the hotel were great, the waiting staff on the day provided smooth, friendly & professional service.Huge thanks goes to Helen & Leonard who totally put us at ease and made the whole day extra special, you are a credit to the industry.
I could go on forever about this superb hotel, but I think you should experience it for yourself, and if you are thinking about booking a wedding here - do it!

Room Tip: Room 222 - got to be done!

Parking is tricky but is parking close by. Minimal seating in bar area but their is restaurant area where you can pre-book.

Service is always professional and meals are of very good quality and exceptionally well priced.

I haven't stayed in the rooms hence I scored a 3 but have heard nothing but positive things so would expect 5 from that.

Only improvement recommendations I would make Is they show the Newcastle premier league matches which naturally attracts business but prevents a lot of regulars eating their or feeling comfortable In and around that time and do and have lost bit if business.

The Grand Hotel is exactly what it says on the tin. The location is perfect and we were in one of the top rooms looking down the beach. The popular front bar also has great views of the sea and the service is excellent whether you're after a bar meal or just a coffee. The history of the building is fascinating and many great theatricals have stayed here in the halcyon years. No visit to Tynemouth is quite complete without a drink in the front bar.

This is in my top 4 hotels around the world. First the staff are fantastic, my room was immaculate, perfect location looking over long sands Tynemouth, short walk to the Metro to travel into Newcastle Upon Tyne. I don't have one bad word to say about this place

Room Tip: I stayed in the front room next door at the Grand Laurel house, I had a great stay

I stayed in the Laurel House anex, a terrace property next door to the main hotel. The room was a good size and nicely furnished with a period style. Fantastic view out over the beach and across the bay. Breakfast was served in the main restaurant. The free wifi worked ok

This is the second time I have had afternoon tea in this beautiful victorian hotel, the food is of an excellent standard with plenty of choice of sandwiches, scones and individual petitte cakes. This visit was celebrate a friends special birthday, the staff are professional and very attentive, we stayed several hours and had several pots of tea, nothing was a problem. The sea view from the dinning room was a lovely bonus, and the day finished off nicely with a glass of prosecco.

Room Tip: Didn't stay over as live locally
