First time i have been to the Grand Hotel and hopefully it won't be the last . I was taken there as a surprise for afternoon tea for my 60th birthday today by my son and his girlfriend. What a treat it was !In the most beautiful surroundings in the drawing room, the food was a delight , with a choice of sandwiches and scones and gorgeous cakes and a small bottle of bubbly ( not sure if that was included)a lovely big pot of tea which lasted as long as the food unlike a one cup pot i experienced at another venue i have experienced in the past not connected to The Grand i might add.It was a lovely and relaxing early evening treat , could have stayed all night ! Will definately return. Thank you xx

We had booked to attend a Christmas Party night with a group of friends. The party was very good value for money, nice meal, well prepared and served. The entertainement/disco was fine, although a little noisy for our group of seniors, we just moved into a quiter area. Our rooms were very nice, friends in a recently refurbished room, ours is next on the list, but still perfectly acceptable. Overall a very enjoyable mini break.

Stayed here for one night when attending a friends wedding. Beautiful hotel and my room had a stunning view over the bay. Staff were friendly, room well kitted out (appreciated the free water) and bed lovely and comfy. However the room was impossibly hot, even though I turned both radiators off. There was no way of opening the window (for safety one presumes) so didn't have the best nights sleep. Plumbing also a little quirky with sink taking ages to drain and toilet threatening to overflow (thankfully or didn't!) Breakfast delicious and really appreciated the table service.

Had the Christmas lunch menu in a very bland room with 5 tables. The food I have to say was just AWFUL not at all seasoned and tasted like processed food which I NEVER eat. The stuffing tasted like cardboard, the pâté starter did not smell right nor taste nice. Terribly disappointed, I have stayed at this hotel many times and also dined in the NICE restaurant and all has been good. It seems whoever cooks the Christmas menu is not the main chef that cooks for the restaurant! Such a shame as I was looking forward to a nice meal however it was terribly disappointing.

No hairdryer in the bathroom, otherwise a nice room and confortable big bed. The view from the room is amazing. The breakfast was okay.
I don't know the prise of the hotels in the area but in my opinion it is too expensive for nothing special.
