Lovely welcome, and an amazing and interesting place to stay. Gorgeous views and good accommodation. Parking a bit difficult at times, but would recommend Liddell town house to anyone who would like something a bit different.
Many thanks to Tony and Kath for accommodating us at short notice and at a difficult time.

Management Response

Jane,
Many thanks for taking the time to write such a nice & sincere review of the Townhouse. It is a unique echo of the style & vibrancy of the 60's and it is fantastic to know that you have really enjoyed staying there. It was a pleasure meeting you both & hopefully we will see you again at some future date.
Regards,
Tony & Kath

Reviewed 27 February 2014 for a stay in February 2014

What a fantastic stay in Tynemouth at the Liddel House.
We are just back to Holland and already thinking about our next stay! The house is very confortable and very well located. The 60's atmosphere is a big nice surprise! Tony is very helpfull and welcoming.
Thanks for this very special trip to England!

“Iconic 60's Party Pad”
Reviewed 28 January 2014 for a stay in January 2014

Well if you want to remember the 60's life style this is the pad for you! Our teenagers rated it as "cool" & "a real weekend break you CAN spend with your parents" & "Can I have my 18th party here". The retro photo opportunities inside the flat kept us going all weekend you will never really have to leave for a weekend of fun! However with the beach opposite and the town so close with great bars and restaurants even the metro into Newcastle it was a weekend for families especially with teenagers enjoying the sound system, 60's furniture, games and "groovy open plan chill space" We will defiantly be back to embrace the 60's in themed outfits next time!

“Wonderful cottage near the beach”
Reviewed 26 January 2014 for a stay in August 2013

We come to Tynmouth every year and last year we decided to rent a cottage for the week. Myself & my partner & my eight year old son sharing the cottage with my friend & her eight year old son. It was fab - we were abit concerned that the stylish interior might not be suitable for lively children but all was just right with the boys getting a kick out of the lava lamp and circular chair. Amazing to have two ensuite bathrooms - great when sharing with another family. The location is perfect - roll out of bed & onto the beach. Stunning views. We've already booked for our next annual visit in August!

I booked this over the internet on the basis of the previous reviews. I then continued to correspond with the owner Tony direct. Like other reviewers I found Tony to be very easy to deal with and very trusting as we were not able to organise a deposit upfront. We met with Tony on the day we arrived and he again he and his partner with very welcoming with a stock of essentials in the kitchen and fridge and a friendly bottle of wine and chocs. Much appreciated. The house is quirky and a real talking point. As I am from the area, lots of relatives popped in to see the '60s house'. We were very comfortable and found the house to be super convenient. Would definitely stay there again.

Perfect from Start to Finish.

Communication was brilliant with the owner Tony as well as key collection on the day of arrival. We were met at the property and given a very informative introduction to Liddell House which was great, a little bit of history about the property and how things work/location of amenities...bottle of wine, biscuits, chocs, milk and butter in the fridge on arrival - above and beyond what is 'the norm'...

The property is fabulous...60s dream pad, really cosy, comfortable, quirky, has everything you could possibly need (TV DVD & DVDs, Games, Books, Chess, Magazines, Music Centre, Comfortable Furnishings and all the usual bits and bobs...jacuzzi bath is a lovely addition too...

Parking could be an issue if there were more than one vehicle as there is no official space but we parked along the side of the property with no problems in the 5 days we were there...

Location is amazing, 10 minute stroll into Tynemouth, 5 minute drive to Whitley Bay and Cullercoates and 10 minute drive to North Shields...The beach is literally a stone throw away, the most fabulous views from the property...another positive.

We ate out at Davantis in Whitley Bay (beautiful & great value for money) and the best chip shop was in North Shields called the Waterfront...

WE WILL BE BACK x
