booked a room at the glencoe inn to use as a base for touring the highlands for myself and my wife.got to say was not looking forward to it after reading some reviews on this site, but got to say was pleasantly surprised when we arrived.staff were very helpful and friendly.room was not the biggest but was very clean.there is some noise from the traffic that passes the hotel but its not that bad.the breakfasts were excellent with plenty of choice both hot and cold.evening meals can be taken in the restaurant in the hotel or you can go to the gathering inn next door to the main hotel, which we chose to do.the meals were really excellent over our two nite stay.overall although the hotel could be doing with more upgrading for the price we paid would defo go back.

This was our second visit to the Glencoe Hotel, on both occasions we stayed in room 104, which faced the main A82 road, whilst in the room there was vibration when heavy vehicles passed. The room had received a new carpet and the hotel had received a coat of paint but most of the hotel was tired and in need of updating, we used the hotel as a basis for walking and its location was ideal for that purpose, the owners had added a bar come restaurant “The Gathering Inn” which can be used for evening meals as part of the full board package was a welcome additional, we had one nights evening meal in the Gathering and were not impressed with the quality of the food, the meals in the hotel restaurant were good, Staff within the hotel were friendly but we did ask the receptionist for local walking maps on the first day of our visit which she promised but never materialised. As a base for either touring the area, or walking this hotel offers good value for money.

We stayed for two nights in the middle of september, on arrival we were met with staff who couldnt be bothered and a room that was barely big enough to get ready in the morning. The furniture within the room was dated and in need of repair and the stairs and corridor had a horrible damp smell. The first night we ate in the hotel itself, the starter was fine but the veg in the main course tasted of anything but veg and the cheesecake appeared to be days old with soft tasteless pastry. A family member chose biscuits and cheese which was inedible as the cheese was rock solid and tasted sour, hence we decided to eat at the bar next door the second night which thankfully was a huge improvement!!! Would never return to this hotel and advise that others give it a wide berth, if there had been another hotel available nearby we would not have stayed for the second night.

We stayed at the Glencoe Hotel on Aug. 11, 2013. There was a misunderstanding in the reservation. We thought we had booked 2 rooms, but the Glencoe management only knew about 1. Their solution was to place another bed in an already small room. We said that would not be acceptable and they were willing to call another hotel nearby which was able to accommodate the second couple. The Glencoe Hotel was dirty, very poor quality and damaged furniture in the room.
There was an odor of gas of some other kind of petrol coming from outside the window. View was of a dilapidated building next door as well as fuel tank next to hotel. All of the other guests we talked to were disgusted with the poor quality as well. We had reservations for 2 nights, but left after the first night. Not what we expected for 140 pounds/night.

Room Tip: Go down the road to The Holly Tree Hotel.

After our first visit to the Glencoe Inn in 2012 i was offered a reduced rate for a three night stay for a mis-hap involving a member of staff who has now gone from the hotel, this was dealt with properly and efficiently by the management. i would just like to say that the offer to come back was greatly appreciated and i visited again with my brother in August this year(2013). the Glencoe Inn staff are very friendly and welcoming. our stay there was very pleasant and i would reccomend anyone visiting the area to call in there even if its just for a bite to eat or a drink at the Gathering next door. i would like to say thankyou on behalf of myself and my brother for the time we had this year and will be returning again in 2014.

Room Tip: the more you pay the better you get
