We were utterly blown away with the service and the quality of the rooms. This was, by far, the best "luxury hotel" experience we have ever had. When we first entered our four room suite, we walked around speechless with awe. No expense has been spared and no detail has been forgotten when it comes to making the guests feel special. The other reviewers have covered the many amenities and unique touches. You'll feel like royalty in this place, but without the snooty atmosphere of typical five star accommodations. A place like this could easily cost twice as much as what they are charging, so if you have the budget to spend even just one night here, you should. It will be an experience you'll remember for years to come.

Room Tip: All of the rooms have pretty views, but if you can get a view of the water, that is the best view.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay so much. We try very hard to create the right atmosphere for our guests and believe that luxury accommodation doesn't need to be accompanied with a stiff and somewhat impersonal tone. As a result our team is delighted that we struck the right note for you - being treated like royalty but with a smile and even a laugh...!

We hope to welcome you back soon. Six of our suites have water views so you have a few more to test out!

Best wishes,
The Glencoe House Team

If you have been searching for a hotel that goes the extra mile, then look no further. The magnificent Glencoe House is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Where the vista is enhanced by the ever changing weather conditions , when viewed from this house.
When we arrived we were greeted on the drive with a warm welcome, shown inside to the lounge, where we were offered us a glass of Champagne as we sat by the roaring fire. This very relaxed check in was the beginning of a wonderful two day stay at Glencoe House.
Our fabulous room was the two bedroom suite (suite 4). What can I say, it us hard to fault perfection. The in room dinning was a a real bonus, the food was of a really high standard. The menu was creative and delicious. The breakfast menu is vast and every detail is carried out and presented in such style that you feel both at home and spoilt.
We loved the extensive mini bar facilities, everything is at realistic supermarket prices. This is the best idea ever !
We really didn't want to leave, and we are already planning a return visit. Perhaps we should keep Glencoe House a secret, because when people find out it is Shangri-la it is going to be fully booked.
A great big thank you to Glencoe House, and its staff, you are a legend in the making and the stuff of dreams. Family memories were made here. We look forward to seeing you all again.

Room Tip: We were in suite 4

Just returned from Glencoe House having stayed for two marvellous nights in this highland gem, perfect location sitting at the head of Loch Leven with uninterrupted views across and to the snow capped mountains beyond. First visit and certainly will not be my last. To be honest there is very little to mention that has not already been covered by previous reviews, the staff, the suites, the hospitality, the location, all perfect. To be honest the only thing that could have improved the stay was an extra couple of night.

You must though try out the in-room dinning that has been introduced, Brian the Chef and his wife provided us with a culinary experience that ail not be forgotten in a hurry as well as a little tub of his incredible chutney to take home. 5 courses, each better than the last all served at your own dinning table with stunning views out across Glencoe. The same complement has to go to the breakfast as well though, simply delicious and again served in the room. And I mean served, not just dumped on a tray and left.

Would also like to leave a special thank you from Kita, she just wants to say that she is missing Conner very much already and can not wait to get back for another romp in the Garden. As other posters have mentioned, suite one is heaven for dogs and the resident big pooch Conner will make their stay :)

Thanks to all though for a special weekend away and will get booked up soon as I imagine that Glencoe House will soon be one of the most sought after hotels in Scotland

Room Tip: Stayed in Suite one, outstanding. All the rooms look great though so you really can not go wrong

Thank you for taking the trouble of writing a review. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay so much. We are trying to provide you with your home comforts combined with the 5 star hotel experience. Brian and Fiona's in suite dinners provides a special evening and you don't even have to take your slippers off. As you say the breakfasts also deserve a mention - all I will say is that Allena, our breakfast chef, fears anyone leaving hungry... As far as we know her professional goal has remained firmly intact.

This response is of course partly from Connor. He was very taken with Kita (or as he calls her, his lovely 'snowy lady'). We would like to emphasise that his intentions are honourable...well we think they are!

We (and Connor in particular) hope we can welcome you ALL back soon.

Best wishes

Glencoe house is an amazing location and we had a great experience. The staff are super friendly, the house and rooms are so beautiful with so many amazing touches, and the location was a real highlight of our stay in Scotland. The lake is great for walks, plenty of outdoor activities close by or you can sit by the fire in your room, looking at the mountains and lake playing games, watching a movie or reading a book, which are all in the room. I can't wait to go back!

Thank you for taking the time to post a review. The Glencoe area certainly does have a lot to offer in terms of outdoor activities including walking and water sports. We would, however, like to remind everyone that they fantastic but are not compulsory...yes you are allowed to sit in your own sitting room playing card games and watching a movie! Remember we won't tell anyone.... We hope to be able to welcome you back in the near future.

I would like to thank everyone at Glencoe House for a wonderful two-night stay - we only wished we could have stayed longer!

The whole team were extremely helpful and friendly, and even welcomed our collie dog with open arms. The service is really excellent without being over the top or obsequious. The team made sure we always had everything we needed without fussing over us or disrupting relaxing atmosphere they have created in the suite.

We were in Suite One, which was stunning and incredibly spacious with a roaring open fire and fabulous views over the loch even from the bath. We had our own access to the garden which was perfect for the dog, and they are in the process of completing a private terrace which will be lovely for sipping champagne in the evening sun.

The house itself has been lovingly restored to its former grandeur and the team at Glencoe House has thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and luxurious. All the little touches make it perfect - from a glass of fizz on arrival to the in-suite honesty bar (with a wide range of whiskies, spirits, wine and beer at supermarket prices) to bath bombs, candles and lovely toiletries, to an i-pod and DVD player (and even 3D glasses for the TV).

Having breakfast and dinner served at your own private dining table is a real luxury. The hearty breakfasts are delicious with an extensive menu with something to suit everyone. Although the 5-course dinner was not available during our stay, the team more than compensated with a sumptuous seafood platter one night and a fondue feast the other - both were enormous and delicious.

If you can drag yourself away from your lovely suite, there are lots of things to do in the area from skiing at Glencoe Mountain Resort to a visit to the Glencoe national trust centre or just taking in the scenery on one of the lovely walks from the house itself.

I thoroughly recommend this delightful haven in the highlands!

Room Tip: Suite 1 is pet-friendly. It is one of the smaller suites but is still enormous and has spectacular v...

It is important to us to give guests a warm welcome but without encroaching on your personal space so we are glad that we managed to hit the right balance and tone for you. Dear Roger, Anne, Judy, Brian, Craig, Tabi and all the staff - thank you so much for a wonderful weekend. Your warm and friendly welcome made a luxurious experience very special. The library suite is just wonderful - it's so good to see the house so well restored but knowing that it saw years of public service somehow makes it even more loveable. Picture the scene - sunday morning around 8.30 - I stoat in to the lounge from the pitch darkness of the shuttered bedroom to find a private breakfast for my best pals in full flow - all of us in fluffy robes and the fire already lit. For me - blueberry pancakes with bacon, fruit salad, maple syrup served under a silver cloche, excellent pastries and a big pot of good coffee. We passed on the champagne on the second morning as the drive home was looming. We did take a small glass at Saturday breakfast tho - then a walk in the chilly grey February day was just the contrast needed to fully enjoy lovely homemade biscuits for afternoon tea (and another bottle), a soak in Aveda rosemary and mint bubble bath, a bit of jazz on the Bose sound system, a jigsaw! Brian's 5 course dinner with more friends in suite 4 was relaxed, refined and delicious. Modern luxuries can be bought, but expert and genuine hospitality is sadly harder to find. Glencoe House is our new favourite place and we can't wait to return.

Room Tip: 2 bedroom suites are great value and I think suite 3 might be the best of these, but just trust the...

Thank you for posting a review. It was an absolute pleasure hosting you and your gang! You were all up for a good time with the birthday celebrations and you were a fun group to have around. Brian's 5 course private dinner just adds to the occassion and means that there is no need to hold back on the laughs. We were also happy to cater for the 'morning after' and you can't go wrong with good coffee, blueberry pancakes in your fluffy dressing gown with all your friends. We hope to well you and your chums back.

Stayed here in December 2013 and from driving up to the we were completely blown away. The service at the hotel is wonderful, staff are really friendly and made your stay really personal. The suites are gorgeous, log fire and beautiful music playing in your suite for your arrival. The breakfast was served in your suite in the morning and was very good, could not fault it at all and excited to hear dinners are soon to be served personally in your own suite also. Oh and they have Aveda products in the bathroom wow! We are coming back to stay again in August 2014 and cannot wait! Best place I have ever stayed hands down.

Room Tip: we stayed in suite 2, extremely large living area with gorgeous views!!

Thank you for taking the trouble to give us some feedback. Our aim is to make your suite a home from home and the log fire and music is part of that. The same holds true for the breakfast - why get dressed and go to a restaurant when you can simply tumble out of bed, put your dressing gown on and sit at your dining room table in your own suite. We have started out dinner service, which is again in your own suite and it sounds a though you might be persuaded to try our 5 course dinner offering. We are looking forward to your return in August.
