Take my words for it if you want peace and quiet and relaxation this is the place to be. I spent 2 days at Hollywood Beach on a small getaway trip just to relax and wow relax I did. The room is perfect with every item that you would need for a break from the hustle and bustle. Just imagine waking up every morning to just the sound of the ocean and the wind. If you want a place to get away from it all and leave your troubles and worried behind this is the place to visit.

An absolute paradise. The suite is spacious and comfortable, with a fully-stocked kitchen for cooking. We ate every meal on the screened-in porch. The suite also had a DVD player and board games, which we used almost every night. The wifi worked flawlessly.

The beach is incredible. We were the only guests during our stay so it was as if it was our own private beach. Pristine water and sand, and lots of great shells for collecting.

The efficient and kind property manager, Alveda, checked in on us daily. I'd highly recommend having her cook a fish dinner for the night of your arrival. The food options on the island of North Caicos are very limited (frozen meats and canned veggies) so stopping at the IGA in Provo on the way to the ferry is also highly recommended. There was no fresh fish available on NC after our first day due to stormy seas.

All in all, this is a comfortable and remote location with incredible views. Definitely off the beaten path, which is a refreshing break. If you need a few days off the grid in paradise, you can't find a better place.

We spent 6 nights in January / February and loved it. We were provided great information from Jane in reservations about how to prepare for our stay and wisely accepted her advice. We purchased grocery while still on Provo, so we were prepared for our week long stay on this slightly more remote island.

North Caicos offers all the amenities and modern conveniences of North American life, but provides a slower pace and welcoming attitude. North Caicos is a small island and if you are able bodied, Hollywood Beach Suites is a great choice because they provide bicycles that allow you to see all that there is - which is not much. The viewpoint of the Flamingo pond is close by; Three Mary's Cay is a few miles away, and by bike is enjoyable but a little off road (again, able bodied only need apply) by the time you reach 3 Mary's, you are ready for a swim! Once at 3 Mary's you may find that you are the only person for seemingly miles around. This is not a place to people watch, but a place to have peace and quiet - "SERENITY NOW!"

Hollywood Beach Suites is peaceful. There are only four units and while we were there, only one other unit was occupied. Alvida was thoughtful and placed us in opposite ends of the building to maximize privacy. The suite was not furnished with the latest modern furnishings, its a bit more like your first apartment, but is quite comfortable. The wifi works well, there is no TV (but who cares, never understood why anyone would even care about TV while on vacation?!?), and the appliances in the kitchen all work just fine. The bed is comfortable, and the shower and toilet work just fine. I encourage travelers to be conservative with the water - a conversation with a local opened my eyes about the cost of trucking in fresh water to the island, and it is not to be taken for granted. The barbecue is modern and operates with propane.
The beach right in front of the suite is never ever crowded. In the week we were there one time we saw 4 people on the beach....this was the biggest crowd we ever experienced. There are no crowds - none!

A word about the Diving on North Caicos. We contacted "Big D" (his number is in the guest info binder when you get to the suites). This is a dude with a boat and some dive gear. He is very conservative and safe. We were the only two people on the boat, and we loved it. He loves what he does, and is thrilled to take you out for an enjoyable day. After our two dives he took us over to a 2.5' deep bay and we pulled some Conchs off the floor, so we could have some dinner that night - Conch sevichi, what a treat!! This was a great experience because we hate the cattle boat method of so many resort areas/islands.

We had a great time at Hollywood Beach. It has a very homelike feel to it. If you do not want to pay to have someone wait on you, if you don't care about people watching, if you want peace and quiet, if you are not afraid of doing a little meal planing, if you like getting around by bike or on foot, if you are fond of the idea that you don't have to lock your doors at night, then Hollywood Beach Suites and the island of North Caicos are for you!

While taking a trip to the Turks and Caicos with one of my best friends over this past Winter break---we reserved Hollywood Beach Suites and lodged there for about ten days. We found it to be outstanding in every sense of the word! If you are looking for a place to stay in North Caicos for a lengthy amount of time, this one is it. It was so convenient to have everything in the apartment duplex from the fully equipped kitchenette and cooking utensils to the washer and dryer, television, DVD player, movies, etc... In addition, the interior decor had an absolutely beautiful ocean ambience. We loved going to bed and waking up in the morning with the sun through the window and the earthly yellows and greens. It was both relaxing and regenerative.

For recreational excursions, Hollywood Beach offers two kayaks, bicycles, snorkeling equipment, and an outdoor grill. We were able to take advantage of several available excursions on the island. The only thing required to do on our part was cycling to the local grocery store to pick up groceries. Even this became a delightful daily routine.

Returning to Providenciales, we made reservations at the restaurant Coyaba for Christmas Eve Dinner and it was luminously beautiful with all the white lights! Provo is quite the opposite of North Caicos. Although being in Provo has its own unique "perks," and is more bustling, I myself enjoyed the quiet villages in North Caicos and being surrounded by the majesty of the sea.

Because we both appreciate nature on a very deep level, we enjoyed exploring all the sites from the Conch Bar Caves to the Coral Reefs. Not only did we bike the entire island, we walked miles of private beachfront and swam in the sparkling turquoise waters every day. It was truly amazing and a memorable experience. Hollywood Beach Suites was absolutely fabulous! Traveling to North Caicos…Highly recommended!

We stayed for a week at this great spot. Off season but we were lucky another couple were at the suites also. Really nothing to complain about this rental Loved the location, loved the atmosphere. Fell in love with a little dog named Scooby who lives nearby. There is everything you need in the way of entertainment. We rode the bikes to 3 Mary Cay, snorkelled, although it was quite windy. The water is amazing. Walked the beach. Listened to the tree frogs. I loved this spot. We ate at the beach bar and cooked our meals. Bring what you need with you though as things are not always available.

We visited during the "off season" and didn't realize just how "off" it is! There was nobody else staying at Hollywood Beach Suites. We hardly ever saw anyone else on the beach - at any time day or night. And the beach is GORGEOUS. It's maybe 10 footsteps from your porch door to the sand. There's so many great places to choose from to sit - on the screened porch, in the shade or sun in the little yard area, in chairs, chaise loungers or hammocks. Or sit on the steps leading down to the beach, or on the beach. The little suite is perhaps a bit threadbare but it was very clean and very well equipped. Includes a washer and dryer and even laundry detergent. Kitchen had dish soap, salt and pepper, cooking spray, papertowels, etc etc - much better equipped than your typical beach house. The beach is all soft sand, you don't need shoes. And it's so close to your suite that you don't need a towel or a bottle of water even, you'll just pop back inside if you need anything. Free wifi was very reliable but too slow for us to stream music or video. A movie download took about 10 hours. The selection of provided DVD movies was remarkably good and well rounded. We watched two or three.

The beach faces nearly due north, so sunrise and sunset watching was a bit incumbered by the island landscape. It also gets surf and wind from any storm happening out on the Atlantic. The big waves break out on the reef though. Another cool thing about this beach is that it is partially shaded all day by the tree line. So you can walk or sit in sun or shade.

If you already know you want to go to North or Middle Caicos you can read no further - stay here, it is really just the perfect place. If you are still researching the destination I suggest you give it some reading and careful consideration. The dining out options are extremely limited, especially in the off season. Food is very expensive. Water is not potable. We packed in all our own meals and brought a water filtration system. You can rent a car (cheap!) and enjoy some sight seeing on the two islands but beware that all of the sights are a bit "overadvertised". There are lots of abandoned cars, signs of infrastructure failure, abandoned houses and abandoned partially completed hotels. There are many skinny dogs. This is a vacation for primarily beach walking, ocean swimming, sunbathing, perhaps snorkeling, diving and fishing. It is NOT a vacation for eating out, being pampered or sight-seeing.

There are 4 suites. All have screened in porches which are TIGHT!! No mosquitos!! :-)
Very clean place, comfy king size bed. WIFI which worked all the time!
Alveda Gardiner, the manager is great. She takes care of everything needed ASAP. We locked ourselves out the first nite. (Typical) but we called Alveda and she came over ASAP to fix our problem. :-), and I needed some itch cream...(ran into no-see-ums w/out spray on me....DUMB) so she brought it over ASAP vs. me having to go to the store. Great service. Her son helps her and he is very thorough and good!! Lots of chaises and chairs, BBQ as well. Kayaks are available, but it was too windy for our taste to take out.
One thing I need to mention is that the kitchen is very small....but it has the utensils needed.
The bikes in our unit needs help. Brakes are squeekie and not that good, and no helmets...but we did use them alot anyway. Hardly any traffic there....:-)
The beach is 30 feet from the front porch and the deck is great. 7 miles of beach around...awesome turquoise waters, breeze is nice.

The store is about 1/3 mile down on the left, and the liquor store (JOSH is the owner) is 1/4 mile on the right. JOSH is a great guy to blab to. He's done it all!

Beach walk to the Barracuda bar 100 feet on the right. Clifford runs it and the Mojitos and beers hit the spot.
They also serve dinner and lunch from the shack. Mostly fish dishes, of course.
It's the happening place there...and on Fridays they have music, Lovey Forbes, who's a neighbor, he travels through the islands and plays. FUN island tunes and a great guy! Unfortunately we missed this...came and went on a Friday...too bad!
Hit the Silver Palm restaurant. 20 min beach walk to the left. Great food and pricy. Reservations needed for dinner.
Hit 3 Mary's Cays, beautiful place, supposed to be some snorkeling but we didn't do it, as it was "weather" at the time.
Rent a car to go to Middle Caicos. Beautiful beaches and visit Daniel's cafe for lunch. We had a long conversation with Daniel and he's a great man.
See the cause way destruction by the hurricane in 2008 when going to Middle Caicos. It's a sight to be seen.
Hit the Bambarra beach and the tiki huts, walk to the cay. You can walk at low tide if you walk on the eastern side...beautiful spot!!
Then take Lorimer's raod and go over the causeway to Haulover Point and take a left in the fork...the beaches you hit there are great...and noone at them....and the little pond is sweet.
We didn't make it to Wild cow run...but I'm sure that is a treat as well...TOO hot that day...and we were there on the hottest time of the day.

Oh, as for the store, we heard they save the best stuff for the locals, so ask if they may have what you want
" in the back". We heard this from a "now local" ex-pat....

We loved this beautiful place of solitude....no crowds, no loudmouths....just beauty and relaxation.
IF you require "something exciting to do all the time or ANY time" this is NOT the place for you...go to Provo.
BTW...There are lots of RE opportunities...

Enjoy it....we still have our pix....:-)

Room Tip: If you like more windows, pick the end units....or want to be away from the parking (which is quiet...
