“AWESOME...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 June 2014

I really enjoyed the interaction with the doves who were so friendly that at one stage I had at least 6 all over me hand feeding. You really have to check it out for yourself not just go on what I or others are saying... I know its winter and the flowers aren't flourishing as much but for some reason the interaction with the birds make up for it. The grounds are still lovely though. Don't get me started on the yummy fudge cake I had after my husband and I finished our walk...Thank you

“A poor example”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 May 2014

The season did not help, but the garden was meant to be the main attraction. The poor birds are said to be a secondary attraction and they sure are - secondary alright and close to a second rate zoo rather than free roaming. The cages need lots of attention and so do the birds.
A lot needs to be spent on both the gardens and the birds to justify even a $9.50 entrance fee.

“Pleasant gardens and birds”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 April 2014

This has been established for many years and has interesting large trees and a pleasant garden.. There are a variety of birds, although not as many as in earlier years. Good food is available.

“Very restful experience”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 April 2014

The gardens have matured since we first visited in 1982. The bones of the garden are still splendid but early Autumn is not the best time to visit for flower display, which is mostly finished by then. It's a very attractive place and a nice walk around, but I think there could be a lot more attention paid to keeping the structure neat - too much untidiness and a feeling of being run down. (There is a big difference between 'wilderness' and 'controlled wilderness'). The gardens are overrun by domestic fowl which tend to make a mess on the lawns. Be careful where you put your feet! Overall, a very pleasant outing, with a cafe serving good coffee and great fish pies.
