“Peace and quiet and quite lovely”
Review of Haiku Pathway

It takes about 45 minutes to walk out to the point (one way). A beautiful walk that starts off along the river and then ends up in Tauranga inner harbour. An easy walk with lovely views and plenty of bird life. The first 20 minutes could be used by wheelchair users (with help).
A highly recommended walk

This a walk with a difference, around a small park and along a river embankment with messages on large stones along the way. Enjoy the Estuary. While you walk part of the trail

A lovely and tranquil place! An ingenious way to highlight the river, which runs behind the main shopping strip. Beautifully laid out with meandering pathways, lovely shade trees, plenty of benches to sit and relax. The boulders with the haiku poetry are nicely placed and reference various points of interest. The new bird sculpture walk along the northern part of the river is good too.

I saw some reviews of the Haiku Path and so dragged my other half along to take a look. The walk along the river is very calm and peaceful (there was no-one else there the day we went) and the path meanders along quite charmingly, but some of the poem extracts are a bit off the wall.
