We are visiting with a group in June 2014 and wanted to get a feel of the place. Very friendly and helpful staff, were quite happy to spend time to show me round and let me know what they do for groups. The facilities were very clean and well maintained. The pools had a great atmosphere with fantastic mosaics on the walls and no extra charge if you are staying at the campground. A separate adults pool had seating but you could still keep a good eye on any children you might be in charge of. Offers of different powered sites, your choice. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone visiting the area.

I have never stayed at the campground we only lived up the road. But I found that the water was not warm enough although the owner advised us that it was on the right tempreture. The adult pool is small & the kids pool is alright if you have small kids. We only went once as a family. There are plenty of other pools in this area to go to.

One of our regular pleasures when at Katikati or Waihi is to visit the Athenree Hot Springs which are only 10 minutes drive from Katikati.
These springs are feed with mineral water that is changed each night so they are fresh and clean. The complex consist of a large public pool that is round 32 degrees so it comfortable for swimming; and a small hotter, 38 degree Adult only pool.
The pools are opened daily but close at 7.30pm. During the summer they can be busy with visitors and campers but are never crowded. They cost round $8 for adults and 10 visit and family tickets are available.

A not to be missed attraction.
