“You could do worse”
Reviewed 26 April 2014 via mobile

We visited bang in 5.30 with a wee one. We helped ourselves to a high-chair and ordered drinks. The pale ale was a bit on the red side but the wild buck ale was delicious. For mains we ordered the Fish of the day and the beef ran dang. Fish of the day was super fresh and well cooked though the serving was a little on the small side (then again maybe not as it hit the spot) but the beef (as ordered by my mum) was apparently 'to die for' and the portion was huge. To be honest I got a little sick of hearing the oohs and ahhs from her side of the table! We ordered 3 desserts though the only one that made a huge impact was the chocolate mousse which got hogged by my sister. The creme brûlée was pretty tasty but the meringue was boring. The service was pleasant and nothing took too long to arrive. All in all a decent meal.

“Lovely food”
Reviewed 4 April 2014

Although we had arrived pretty late, we felt welcome.
The fish of the day and the beer were really delicious!

“So-So Restaurant”
Reviewed 18 March 2014

Service was very slow and the restaurant was not crowded as we were there toward the end of the evening. We were with another couple and everyone liked their food but me. I was not very hungry and ordered an appetizer that was described layered avocado and salmon. It turned out to be like eating a bowl of guacamole with a few small pieces of salmon.

“Poor service”
Reviewed 9 March 2014

Group of us ate there, we were shown to a table. After sitting there for 5 mins a waitress asked us if we were ok? Um no! It was obvious we had no drinks menu or drinks, which we told her. Another waitress came and took our order. Complaint- no prices on the drinks menu. Ordered our food- 3 of us got our entrees- mussels missing-these took another 15 mins to arrive after saying something to waitress. Main course-everyones meal arrived but mine- eventually it arrived & was tepid & boring. Other meals were delicious, especially the venison. TOILETS dirty with paper towels on mens floor. We had to get the waitresses attention to order drinks & ask for cutlery. The waitress that had the bad attitude all night was seen leaning near the bar looking at her watch, while we were trying to get her attention that we wanted more drinks.
