“Wentworth Valley”

We stayed at the camping ground which is a DOC one. It is kept very clean. There are swimming holes in the river. An hours walk up to the water fall and a steep climb down to the bottom of the falls for a swim under the falls. a great family place to stay and about 10 minutes into Whangamata beach

“Great bushwalk to a swimming hole”
Reviewed 5 January 2014

We did this walk every year or two as kids and it hasn't changed much since then (although there are a few more barriers and stairs than there used to be, which are handy). It's a great bush walk to a lookout and then (for those that are confident) down to a waterfall and swimming hole. The water can be refreshing (read: cold) but it's great after the walk there, and you can then relax on a rock in the sun. Take a picnic and the whole family. Very enjoyable.

“a year round easy nature walk”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

A perfect way to discover New Zealand's bush. The track is ieasy to walk and very picturesque. In the late winter and spring, the waterfall is amazing, and in the summer, it is a cool shady walk to do. Dogs are also welcome on the Wentworth track. In the summer, take a picnic and your bathing suit, as there are many spots on the river bank to enjoy. I live nearby and always take visitors from overseas to the Wentworth Valley

Walked this track for the first time in mid September! Lovely track that has been well maintained. Nice to see the lovely nature. Defo recommend if you want a taste of the coromandel :)
