We enjoyed a great outdoor pasta lunch on a summers day. Good value and very well presented. Have also enjoyed coffee there on other occasions. Being able to arrive by boat is a plus.

My partner and I came for dinner as recommended by our accommodation owner during our stay in Turangi. It took us by surprise how good the food was in a small remote town and we totally enjoyed our experience.

The turn off from the highway to the town was quite obscure with no street light - lucky we had GPS otherwise we could have easily missed the turn. The restaurant is right next to the lake and we could only imagine how nice it would be during the day.

We had a young teenage apprentice waiter who was polite, friendly and professional although you could see he was still learning to be on top of his game. The food came timely and our dishes were all very nice (garlic bread, seafood chowder, penne pasta, mushroom salad). Definitely exceeded our expectation.

The environment was relaxed and suited for families. People overall dressed rather casually. Almost too relaxed for the quality of the food.

Overall - excellent experience and we would definitely come back again.

We were seated inside as it was a little too cool for sitting outside. The view of Lake Taupo is outstanding and those people who knew more about the place, had drinks outside and then came in for dinner, which we should have done. Inside the atmosphere is nothing to rave about other than the view. The food was generally good, but the service was very unsophisticated for a place that appears to be trying to be an upscale restaurant. We may have been just unlucky to get a newby waitress, but she really had no clue about the wine list and how to go about the whole approach to serving a table of six. She did call over another waiter to help with the wine questions, but he was almost as clueless as she was. The saving grace was that the food was good.

This restaurant is tucked away in a secluded area just outside of Tokaanu so could be hard to find if you don't know the area. The restaurant is situated on the turn off to Waihi village the home of
Paramount chief of the Ngati Tuwharetoa Iwi. We were here on a Monday night for a birthday celebration. Very quiet, only 4 couples. One wait person which was fine no problems with service. We have brought visitors to this restaurant twice in the past, during the day. Only had coffee and cake then and was very average with average service but the view is sensational & quite sheltered if you want to dine outside. Decided to take a chance and go for dinner. Was very pleasantly surprised. Entrees, mushroom with ricotta & spinach, and Cajun Prawns. Prawns done beautifully and so tasty. Mains, rack of Lamb & Venison. Partner couldn't finish his venison as there was so much. Both done to our liking and not dried out. Dessert, Tiramisu, over the top indulgent. Be warned (or not) all dishes are very generous servings. Liked that we got vegetables with our mains unlike one supposedly top notch place in Taupo where we did not! Overall I would highly recommend this place as a must to eat if you are in the southern end of Lake Taupo. Next time though 2 courses will be sufficient. Certainly would love to bring our visitors here next time for a meal.

We had one of our two best meals here during our 17days visit in NZ. Amazing views dining outside, excellent seafood. You get your money's worth. Your dish is full of seafood, not fillers. Delicious!
